Pours a dark amber brown color with an off white, dense foam head. Shake sticks to the glass with a webbed lacing.

Aroma of chocolate, pretty much full on.
The taste is delicious. Malted milk balls, raw, dark and milk chocolate, or just chocolate in general you could say. Shake is an apt title for this milkshake of a beer. Theres a small bitterness and hop tang but really, its chocolate all the way.

Medium bodied, well carbonated brew with a nice cocoa hit at the end and a pretty clean finish.

Overall, this is a nice brew, I would recommend this to lovers of chocolate beer and porter alike.

Pours a transparent garnet-brown with a huge frothy head into my glass. Not an actual chocolate shake, mind you.

Semi-sweet chocolate in the nose just a hint of coffee and cream as well.

Flavors run the gamut, from semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa powder, cream and light coffee.

Mouthfeel is dominated by luscious chocolate notes.

It definitely lives up to the name. This isn't just a porter with a greater emphasis on chocolate malt. This is an actual chocolate beer!

It definitely is aptly named. It is reminiscent of a chocolate shake. I almost wish it were even more so, with a creamier and maltier (not beer malts) flavor.

It pours a thin looking deep brown with loads of lacing and moderately weak head. The aroma is sweet chocolate - kind of like a Yoo-Hoo, but not as milky (like a Yoo Hoo is milky).

The taste is like a thin Yoo-Hoo - sweet but not syrupy, thin and not nearly robust enough. The aftertaste is clean but it reminds you of the disappointing chocolate drink you just drank, hoping you were going to drink a porter.

This is not a good example of an American Porter. It should be much more robust than it is. It just does not work for me.

A: pours black with a finger and a half of dense and rocky light tan head that is slow to fade and leaves good lacing
S: smells of chocolate, slight coffee, and a bit of caramel sweetness
T: tastes like chocolatey goodness with a bit of coffee. swallow is more chocolate, some roasted malt and coffee
M: This beer drinks thick and viscous. Good carbonation as well. It does have a shake like texture and a nice refreshing finish
O: This beer is very solid. it's a little one noteish but they set out to do it like that.

A - Black in color, but a clear black. No light can get through but no signs of sediment. Half a finger of a pretty tan head fades quickly to a thin film. Good lacing.

S - Very sweet and pleasant smelling. Does this brew come with free wifi? Chocolate, cappuccino, a hint of roasted malts. None of the scents are overpowering.

T - My first sip I thought of a glass of chocolate milk. Rich and chocolatey up front. A malty sweetness follows that and the finish is filled with a good amount if hop bitterness. Very we'll balanced brew.

M - A pleasant bubbliness which is similar to letting your tongue sit in listerine. Creamy and smooth. Leaves a coating everywhere long after you've swallowed.

O - Very well rounded chocolate brew. While the smell is dominated by the chocolate, the flavor is surprisingly well balanced by hop bitterness.
