Pours a brilliant amber with a frothy cream head that lingers.
Floral and resiny hops dominate, with pine and specialty malt fruitiness adding complexity. Earthy hops and muted grapefruit surface late. Fairly hop dominant.
Resiny, grapefruit underpinnings accompany specialty malt fruitiness in the flavor. Pine and bitterness are noted in the finish. Malt backbone is substantial enough to support, but the balance is hoppy.
Body is a touch full, with moderate carbonation and light alcohol warmth.
Fairly impressed. More hop and specialty malt character than I anticipated. Balance is toward flavoring over bittering. Floral and earthy hops keep the party going. Imperial, it is not, but fairly good hop variety and nice malt presence.
