12oz bottle best by dec162015 poured in a pint glass. Low lighting environment and think it poured golden. Clear. Great lacing and retention. Smell is tangerine, orange, and mango. So far so good then boom I taste it...and let down. Soapy bitter citrus and lemon. Finish with orange and no balancing malt. It does get better with warmth but I was a little let down :( not a terrible beer just unimpressed. Cheers!

This pours a clear, dark yellow color with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is rather strong with bitter citrus hops. The taste is hoppy and strong. Probably one of the more bitter beers I’ve had in awhile. Pretty powerful stuff for you hopheads!

Solid and unspectacular, Boulder's Mojo is straight-up, no-nonsense American IPA: good stickiness, thick pine notes, appreciable—but fairly herbal, even a little spicy, and ultimately not overwhelming—wet-grass bitters. It flashes a good golden-brown color, with moderate head, but disappointing sparse effervescence; there's solid lacing along the sides of the tulip's bell, but all other signs of foam dwindle to near-nothingness within moments. The aromas of Mojo, meanwhile, are a strong-suit, with a seriously funky nose: some odors of hard, aged-cheese rind and grapefruit pith predominate, but there's also fleeting gestures at sugar-cookies and white rum in the sugary esters that form the fat olfactory under-structure.

While not an IPA to grow wild over, Mojo is—as aforementioned—entirely solid, though not without complaints. It's a big, hop-blast IPA (along the lines of, say, Modus Hoperan—though not as pleasantly-biting or complex as Ska's shotgun-of-hops), so it's pretty boozy (7.2%) and doesn't strain to hide that fact; it's pretty heavy on the palate, leaving a residue of malts sugars and piney-syrup textures as its part-and-parcel finish; and it's pretty oligo-dimensional, hitting its handful of hop notes, built up on a hardy skeleton of grain-candy, and not featuring much else.

Looks and smells great, but this beer is too bitter for my taste. The bitterness lingers for quite a while. It might be better with a meal or snacks, but not by itself.

Pours hazy golden copper, almost Belgian. Huge white head.
Hoppy citrus, florals, mostly grapefruit.
Great grapefruit citrus, resin oil and earthy hops.
Good carbonation, mild, and a good bit of bitterness.
I'll be sure to try this again.

On cask at the Dandelion Pub in Philly. 2nd round of The Open on the telly. Hand pumped Into their classic dimple mug. Nice and smooth IPA. Feels like an ale from Scotland (but hoppy).

A - Pours a hazy amber color with 2 1/2 finger head. Good head retention and lacing present.

S - Nothing initially pops out at first, not too much present it appears aside from more subtle scents. Hints of pine and grapefruit are the most prominent scents. Overall not much to the nose, decent but vague aromas.

T - Fairly bitter IPA, with flavorings focused around hops, pine and overall "earthy" flavors. Minor notes of grapefruit are present as well but quite vague. Leaves a fairly harsh/bitter aftertaste.

M - Medium bodied with mild carbonation present. Not too much else to say here really; above average but nothing spectacular.

O - An average IPA all-in-all. Nothing in particular really stands out to me with this beer. Would drink again if given to me but will not go out of my way for.

Boulder Mojo IPA: The definition of an average IPA. Nothing really stands out, but by no means a drain pour. About as middle-of-the-road IPA as you'll find.

Nearly clear golden color. Smooth creamy head. Not a poignant aroma but a bit dank. Feels a bit dull due to the lack of carbonation. The hoppiness is presant but it's not bitter. It almost feels warm on the tongue. Very smooth finish.

Poured a clear amber body with a one finger foamy white head and light carbonation bubbling up. Overall impression of appearance is of an IPA, true to form. Scents of tropical fruit, grapefruit zest, tangerine flesh, medium-light vegetal hops and some light earthy dank aromas and pale malt sweetness. Overall impression of aroma is of a fairly typical West Coast IPA, not bad, not the most exciting aroma, but a solid take on the style. Flavor begins moderately bitter with notes of earthy, dank, vegetal hops, tangerine flesh, light amounts of grapefruit and a lightly sweet pale malt backbone. Middle continues with vegetal and dank hops dominating and a slight flavor of preserved orange peel and some moderate citrus peel. Finish is moderately bitter with notes of vegetal hops with an onion-like quality, bitter hops and some light floral hop flavors and a pale malt backbone. Aftertaste is biscuity malt, a light hop bitterness and some citrus peel. Overall impression of flavor is of a nice dank IPA. It has more earthy and vegetal flavors than bright ones, with a solid malt backbone. Not bad. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a resinous, sticky feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a good IPA, nothing off. Overall this is a fairly good standard IPA. It has a nice vegetal, earthy quality with just enough bright fruit and malt to balance. A good IPA.

Good and more complex than the mojo. More malty. It was a great surpise beer in their mixed 12 pack but I think I would buy a different 6/4 pack if I was looking specifically for an ipaipa

Love the color of this beer. Not too dark and not as light as a lighter beer. A nice golden brown color. Has a solid lemony/pine taste to go along with it. Overall a great beer.

This is an odd tasting beer. It has a strange aftertaste that reminds me of an american adjunct lager, which is not what you want in an IPA. Was really hoping for more...

Had this off a nitro tap at Park in Cambridge, MA so the review was pretty much driven solely by feel, but a great way to enjoy a middle of the road IPA, so smooth.

I've tasted quite a few IPA's, and this one is the top. Very nice aroma and color. The first sip is an avalanche of flavor and has an excellent finish.

A - A golden/honey color, almost no visible carbonation, 1/4" soapy head, larger bubbles, settles to a bubbly film on surface, good lacing
S - Grapefruit,
T - Moderate hop with light bitter; I typically don't like big bitter, but this one was about right for me and didn't linger on forever
F - Nice body, not thin or watery, low-medium carbonation
O - I'm typically not a huge IPA fan, but this one was actually ok, or, I'm just getting used to IPAs since I keep trying them.

Pale golden yellow lighter than most IPAs

Somewhat sweet aroma

Taste similar to smell however unpleasant aftertaste

Feels nice, like most IPAs

Overall decent I wouldn't go out of way to recommend

Bought 6 pack of cans, drink by date 2 months from now. Poured into glass, nice looking beer, light orange glow with 1/2" head. Nose was sweet caramel with subtle grapefruit, stone fruit/grape must aroma. Smooth, sweet mouthfeel, light bitterness at first that lingers with a light dry finish. Nice beer but I get the feeling the ones I am tasting are a bit aged despite the best by date. Oxidation?

A: slight haze; light amber; 1 finger ivory head that receded to an uneven cap; nice lacing;

S: grassy, earthy, a little floral; grape nuts; a little graham cracker;

T: more floral than anything; the flavor sort of dies at mid-palate and you're left with low to moderate bitterness with a bit of sweetness to the finish;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation;

O: flavor was a little disappointing;

This was the beer that really got me into crafts. Off the tap it was amazing. Found it on nitro once before but it wasnt the same. Tried it in bottles and cans since then and, while its still good, still doesnt match the first taste from the tap. Guess Im going to be chasing the dragon.

Pours a bright orange/yellow with an off white head that trails the glass. The smell is full of both bread and grapefruit citrus notes. The taste is all about the hops though with full hop grapefruit flavor in the beginning and then mellowing out to a nice finish. A lingering aftertaste, but it was very nice.

12 oz bottle into a wine glass.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color. The head is a finger high and white in shade. It has a superbly sticky texture and good retention; the former allows it to leave a nice ring of lacing on the glass. Very aesthetically pleasing. (4.5)

Smell: There doesn't seem to be a significant hop presence here. There is a bit of flowers and apricot coming from the Amarillo hops, but the primary note is a sweet, white bread maltiness (which I prefer to the more burnt caramel/toffee I get from darker IPAs). Actually, there isn't a significant anything to this IPA. I'd reckon the nose about 15% too subtle for its own good, in fact. (3)

Taste: Flavors of nettle, flowers, and apricot hit the palate first. Between the beginning and ending hop flavors (though the latter is more of a bitter finish), there's a pleasant maltiness lurking in the mid-taste. Instead of obstructive toffee, the flavor is closer to sweet bread, or maybe even sugar cookie. Nothing too exciting here, but at least it's not loaded down with crystal malt. (3.25)

Mouthfeel: It's a bit flabby as far as IPAs go: it has a full body and a sweet finish that hinders its ability to go down the palate. Carbonation is somewhat weak...maybe that's why. Luckily, the bitterness gives it some drinkability back. (3)

Overall: This isn't your typical crystal-malt-and-piny-hops IPA; this is more floral, with a lighter (yet still sweet) maltiness. It's still maltier than I prefer, but I think its malt backbone is genuinely likable. I'd gladly give a fresher sample another chance. (3.25)

3.24/5: Not much stands out here, but at least they got the maltiness right

I am really starting to get into IPA's and I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. The citrus flavor was extremely enjoyable, and it goes down pretty smooth. Drank out of the bottle. I enjoyed this a lot.

My Mojo has been pretty good for a long time (not to brag), but for some reason I don't buy this often. I know I tried it a long while back, but I don't know why I haven't been back. Mojo has good mojo.

I looks like a good AIPA, yellow, with some head and lacing. The aroma is pungent and actually has something besides hops in there.

The taste is very well balanced for the style. Hoppy, yet a little dark and malty. It has the depth that some of the lighter AIPAs are missing.

The aftertaste is crisp and hoppy. None of it is too bitter. I think I should do more mojo more often.
