On tap at the Winking Lizard. Beer number three on my 2011 World Tour. Served in a pint glass and super fresh! This was a great, juicy IPA and one I know I've had before but didn't remember so fondly. I think freshness is key with this IPA in particular, and this was certainly a fresh keg!
The beer is a golden color with some copper and a hint of straw. A white soapy head crowns my pint glass and only recedes accompanied by nice lace. The color's nice but the beer lacks a certain sparkle that the best in the genre possess.
The smell is full of tropical notes like mango and pineapple, then some grapefruit and big, banging hops culminating in a touch of pine. It's lush but could be just a touch more expressive. The smell also has just a touch of malt sweetness like a kiss of caramel.
The taste is hoppy and pleasant. I'm thinking Centennial is one of the hops here, as I'm getting a nice pineapple and apple core, then some mild malt sweetness. That lasts for a second before another wave of medium to high bitterness washes in with pine and grapefruit notes. There is just a touch of booze and, strangely, I get a touch of cotton candy flavor too. This is nicely constructed but could use an extra shot of hops to keep up with the modern hallmarks of the style.
Mojo has a sticky but medium to light body. There's a nice kiss of carbonation. Really the best part of this beer is the mouthfeel - the carbonation and bitterness compliment each other well and the beer never becomes coating. This is how I like my IPA to feel. This was drinkable and enjoyable. Here's to a fresh start with Mojo!

12oz bottle with a date. drank up out tha bottle.
look i can't comment on, the smell was average - bready malts and stinky pine-and-grass hops. taste is very average but enjoyable, with more fruity hops than the nose suggests. average medium feel with a syrupy finish.
ok but doesn't match up with the giants of the style, more of a hoppy amber. as an ipa it's unimpressive.

Enjoy by 3/27/14.
Pours a clear golden orange with a foamy orange-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grapefruit juice, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with metallic, pine, and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer that smells decent enough, but there is something making this one super metallic tasting and fairly undrinkable.
