Nice ipa. Pours light copper with a decent head--holds up well, leaves nice lacing. Aromas of pungent hops, orange peel, slight pine and in the back light malt. Flavor mirrors the aromas. Nice hop bite in the begining--some bitter citrus peel-orange and grapefuit--you know--when you get the "white" of the peel. Flavor is present but bitterness is strong. Nicely balanced by malt. Maybe a small amount of biscuit mixed in. Hops leave slight resin that lingers in the mouth but otherwise the transition of flavors make it nice. Very drinkable--but at 7% abv in a full pint wouldn't do more than 2.

on tap at o'neills in rochester, mn

a: pours a nice golden color with about a quarter inch of head that dissapers fast leaving a little lacing on the top of the beer as well as around the edge of the glass
s: sweet malts in the very initial, followed heavily by citrusy piny and mabey earthy hop bitterness
t: hops hops hops, citrusy piny are the two most previlant hints of earthy hops as well
m: medium bodied beer with little carbonatoin

overall, i really enjoyed this brew and i think i will order it again some time, unfortunatly not a sessionable brew

Had on tap at Moan and Dove. The drink had a murky orange appearance with some decent lacing. Faint citrus and orange flavor aromas gently permeated from the drink; nothing too special. Moderately strong bitterness was a little off-putting in its taste department. Good carbonation. Overall, it was pretty decent but a little too strong in taste.

S: Citric and fruity blend of hops... some spice (maybe pepper)..

T: Nice and hoppy... pineapple... nice malt base.. smooth transitions.. no bitterness in the finish

M: Smooth. Crisp finish. Not muddied at all.. Medium body.

D: A good all around IPA... could use a dash more hops to really up the ante..

I grabbed this at Jupiter's while waiting for a pizza and wings takeout, and it was coupled with a great bar experience. As I entered, Illinois was down 28-26 to Purdue in the Big Ten quarterfinals. Just before the half, the barmaid told me that the wings would still be a stretch, so I ordered a Mojo IPA; great choice. As I was waiting for the Mojo IPA, Illinois, ranked 10th in the Big Ten Tourney, tied the game against the second-ranked Boilermakers, 28 up at the half.

The beer was excellent, pitching a thick finger of off-white head atop a lemon-orange body. Dense with hops, Mojo's IPA also comes stocked with fruity aroma, full of orange and pineapple. Terrific taste as well, with the fruit and chewy hop texture in pleasant harmony. At this point, I ended up chewing the fat with a guy names Steve about Illini hoops, baseball (both my Yankees and his Cubs), and college basketball generally. Really good guy, really energetic conversation with lots of good vibes for the second half. I had to split once the wings came out, and took an extra minute to finish the terrific Mojo. But the mojo continued well with the conversation. I met Steve's girlfriend Suzie, who also attends the university, and left them with a round for the terrific chatter.

Mojo IPA was excellent, easy to drink, fruity, and hopped. This was one with a mojo all its own, a very good beer with very good vibes. Certainly one of the better IPAs I've ever had, and one of the better beer and bar experiences I've had in quite some time.

Found it on tap at the Spinnerstown.

The Mojo has a copper-orange color with a nice head on it. Some thin lacing left as it goes down.

Had a floral hop smell to it, very slight pine also.

It was very good, not a real hoppy IPA but a very balanced one. Could easily detect the malt. Has a little above average carbonation and an overall lighter body to it.

Great IPA to have when your having more than one, and its easily done with this fine IPA.

Sorry - maybe I got a bad batch, but this was not that good to my taste buds. I am getting formaldehyde notes that are too much of a turnoff. Maybe because I worked in medical labs when I was younger and encountered formaldehyde too often, but this beer turned me off completely with its bitterness and astringent taste. This beer would be better with more floral notes and sweet malt. But as it stands, it just didn't pass the muster this round. Seems off-balanced. There are better picks amongst the many taps handles at my favorite beer bar in NYC.

On tap at Redbones
Poured a pale orange color with a thin white head that left little lace. Very fruity citrusy aroma that continued to develop as the beer warmed up. The flavor was a bit piney but mostly citrus hops with a nice bitter finish. This was a slow sipper for me and 1 was enough.

On tap at Smokin’ Joes, Southside of Pittsburgh, PA.
A: Lovely dark gold color with hues of orange throughout. Perfect amount of head for an IPA; kudos to the bartender.
S: The hops are right in your nose immediately, and they don’t go away. The varieties of hops meld nicely to create a coherent fruity and bitter scent that is pleasing and enticing.
T: Again, the hops are right on you and they stay there. However, they’re not overwhelming; rather, they’re well-balanced and complement each other nicely. Overall, fairly piney and floral. Hints of sweetness.
M: Every time I put my glass down, I wanted to pick it back up. The feeling is bitter and biting, given the style, but it’s one of the smoothest among IPAs I’ve tried.
D: Very good. I wish I could have stayed for another.
Overall, an excellent IPA. This is pretty much what I think of when I think of beer.

Served on-tap in a pint glass.

Appearance: Clear, copper amber color with a medium white head that dissipates to a thin top layer. Good lacing.

Smell: Strong citrus, mostly grapefruit. Some minor caramel as well as something the seems like peppermint??

Taste: The grapefruit returns along with a sweet caramel base. Great hop flavor and bitterness. Overall good balance between hop and malts...but hops eventually prevail.

Mouthfeel: Somewhat thick with good carbonation.

Drinkability: Mostly smooth and decently drinkable for an IPA.

Pours a standard looking IPA, copper-amber with a nice head. Nose is solid, floral hops mostly with some grapefruit and sweetness too. Taste is great, interesting as hell. There's a really strong caramel sweet flavor sitting on this one, which mixes in an interesting and unique way with the grapefruit hops. Feel is standard, medium bodiedI'm a big IPA fan, and this one has an interesting originality that puts a nice and tasty spin on the style. One I'd definitely get again.

Served on tap at Plan B in West Hartford, Ct.
Hazed amber with a foamy head that laces pretty well in a pint glass.
Nice piney and citrusy smell.
Taste is a a very well balanced pine and grapefruit hoppy bitter with just the right amount of caramel malt. Slightly biscuity. Finish is very clean with a lasting bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel was medium with a good amount of carbonation.
Very drinkable...had a few of these with a burger and fries.

Beer poured a golden amber color, clear with white head. Aroma was a pleasant mixture of citrus and pine, with a touch of sweetness. The taste is very distinctly Ameircan IPA, from the citrus, pine and earth hops to the slight malt sweetness trying to balance it out. Overall this is a good example of the style, but one that doesn't stand out in any particular way. Still, a very solid, sessionable IPA.

Slightly hazy copper color from draught pour. Enjoyed from the source in Boulder, CO.

Nose is a pleasing citrusy orange dominant aroma, with miscellaneous citrus and pine in the background. Big and pleasant orangey hops. Nice.

On the palate enough malt is present to balance out the hops but overall the orangey hop spice wins. I find this extremely appealing, as the beer becomes a lemonade (orangeade) of beers - great for thist quenching when you have that citrusy craving.

Finish is moderately long with plenty of tartness. Yum.

On tap at Tampa Bay [one of the last, and probably MY last time at the old brewpub--- hope the new one will be as good- will miss the upstairs] What a surprising treat, Seemed to pour like a cask-conditioned, the bar maiden had to spend some time coaxing it out with out foam over [and she said it's just like that, this was neither newly tapped, or at the end] Almost tasted like a double. Strong malt with stronger hops balancing out, even seemed to have a higher alcohol than the advertised 7% [maybe tbb got a special edition??]
Darker amber for an ipa, as mentioned before huge head! super sticky lace all the way down, coated the glass! Nice grassy flowery hoppy nose. Very nice. will try to get some bottles!

I've had this on bottle before, and it's definitely better on tap. Pours a fairly light color for an IPA - kind of a pale yellow-golden color, and call me crazy, but something seems a bit green about it. Nice thick white head, though not much lacing.

Strong lemon-zest kind of aroma, with a bit of pine to it. The aroma foreshadows the flavor - which, again, is a bit different from the bottle. From the tap it has a very pleasant lemony flavor, along with that piney hoppy IPA goodness that one would expect. Also doesn't taste quite like it's 7% - it's a bit sneaky.

Recommended from the bottle, but HIGHLY recommended on tap.

On tap at Old Chicago in Silverthorne, CO.

A: Pale copper with a creamy white head. Surprisingly light for an IPA.

S: A heady mix of citrus, tobacco, whipped cream and grass. Delicious.

T: There's a creamy, light fruitiness on the front of the palate with hints of banana and pineapple. This gives way to a bitter hop wallop--very fresh and resiny--with a long, hoppy aftertaste.

M: Medium-body, as one would expect. Nice and fluffy across the palate.

D: Good, especially for such a bitter IPA. It does a great job of whetting the appetite.

I hadn't had this in a while and was happy to give it a second look--especially on tap. Worth a first or second look for you too.

Dispensed on handpump at 2nd annl firkin rendevous at phantom canyon (COS).

Pours hazy peach with minimal white head. Good lacing and minimal head retention

Smell: Tons of citric hops

Taste: Citric hops, fruitiness, slight grain bite, & sweet finish

MF; Good blance and carbonation

Very drinkable, this tastes a lot lower than it's avertised abv.

Not a huge difference between bottled & cask IMO, but a very good beer any way you look at it...

Poured into a pint glass, slightly hazey, tan copper. Smell of grapefruit in the hops, blueberry notes as it warms.

Juicy apple pear fruit start and finish of lime and orange rind hops. Great hop burps that had me thinking I'd ate a sugared Christmas wreath.
Medium body, carbonation shows up right to keep things even. Bitterness is enjoyable, not overwhelming.

After all the IPAs I've had recently, I didn't expect much from the Mojo but it turns out I like this stuff. Smooth sip, nice body, super piney hop burps, I'll have to try it again in the future.

Appearance: Slightly hazed orange copper off white head fine sporadic lacing is left, not bad. Aroma: Citrus, hop leaf grassy notes along with grapefruit tones balanced with a rolling malt base that is evident here. Taste: Hoppy IPA, the bitterness takes shape with a rolling pine and citrus mainly grapefruit expression, with the malt base forming a creamy sweetness blended with the solid offering of hops. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with a nice strong carbonation and slightly oily somewhat resinous texture. Drinkability: Very nice all around IPA served on draft at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse, hop burps were plentiful.

I got to sample this beer at Old Chicago's in Sioux Falls SD. Nice to know that we can get good beer in SD. Mojo poured a magical copper color that is very consistent with an IPA. A clear color that shows it has been filtered. A decent head that remained for some time but eventually did disappear. Limited lacing.

The smell was a good medium aroma as far as IPA's go. It wasn't overpowering knockout but it was still noticeable. A good pine smell with some grassy notes on the top. There is a malt backing with a sweet almost cinnamony tone to it.

The taste is well balanced. A good aroma kick at first with stronger citrus and grassy tastes. Not much on the bittering side this beer is mostly consistent of aroma hops. There is no oily taste, which can be noticeable with floral hoppy beers. The malt is very sweet. It is light and kind of basic in flavor but some hints of biscuit and breadiness are noticeable.

The beer is medium body. And I was pretty surprised it was 7%. Very smooth and easy drinkable beer. Overall this was a good IPA. Good presence of floral, smooth to drink. I would recommend this one for sure.

Hazy bronze color with a small creamy white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is of pine and herbal hops. The taste is fantastic. Herbal hops, and piney with a small bit in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, rich, and smooth with ample carbonation. Overall, this is a very good IPA.

The beer pours a golden color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a nice malty scent that boasts of pale and light crystal malts. It also has a wonderful hop aroma. It's dry and bitter with floral notes. The taste is awesome. It has a very bitter, floral hop flavor that goes down easy and finishes dry with a slight malt feel. This is quite enjoyable. The mouthfeel is good. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a damn fine IPA. It has a good malt flavor along with outstanding hop character; a good drinker.

Sampled at the '05 American Beer Fest.

Pours with a nice clear amber body and a frothy white head. The aroma was a nice, aromatic and floral hops body, with nice depth. The taste was quite good as well, with a nice bitter note complemented by some of the softer hops character and some gentle maltiness, and just a hint of citrus. One of the more pleasant IPAs I've sampled recently, and one I hope to try again soon.
