Bought from Morgan’s Liquor store. On sale and I needed something cheap to drink while I moved.

A&S: Great looking pour. Lively, transparent light copper colored beer. Head is think and fizzy but dies quickly. Head is a tan color and leaves globs of lacing. Some oiliness on the surface. The aroma is my favorite part about this beer. Pretty straight forward with a heavy dose of citrus via lemon and some grapefruit, but you also get a sense of a malty backbone.

T&M: Taste is way to malt forward, but at the same time oddly bitter (the combo doesn’t suit this brew well). Breadyness than right to bitter, not much flavor. The finish packs a huge bitter punch. Hangs kinda heavy for an IPA, really coats the mouth, you need something to snack on otherwise you are bound to just be getting bitterness after a while. High body, but also pretty highly carbonated, it makes for a really abnormal combo.

Overall: Barely worth the sales price of 8 and change. Pretty easy to drink considering the heavy feel and bitterness, but you can find much better IPAs out there for just a buck more a sixer.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau glass. Enjoy by April 16th, 2014.

A real nice looker of an IPA, nearly perfect. Three finger creamy head with a little soapy retention, some island puck clumps and spider lacing. The body color is a gorgeous brass orange, crystal clear, just the right amount of active carbonation, slow towards the bottom, a good fast clip to the top. Head falls though a little quickly, but otherwise great looking beer.

Hints of malt and spiced caramel and cinnamon. Slight fruit but kind of small, definitely not a large hop forward brew going on here. Sweet. A little bit of honey and resin hop stick qualities to match also.

Palate comes with a nice clean finish. A short hop pine and controlled blast in the mid palate, but disappears quickly on the swallow. Aftertaste brings a nice honey character with some sweet white sugar but noting overly so. A little light bodied, hints at some tight carbonation on the tongue also.

Not too bad, certainly a good looker, but IPAs have certainly come quite a long way since then.

12 oz. bottle poured into pint glass

A-blonde in color, poured with less than one finger of head, dissipating over a short period of time.

S-I get more of the malt from this one. Perhaps bread, orange, apricot. I don't get much from the hops.

T-Some floral and citrus hop character but also a little grassy to me with a fairly balanced feel overall. Some light, caramel sweetness.

M-Light bodied, decent carbonation, a little thin, but very drinkable (especially for the alcohol)

O-Strange IPA to me. The hop character was lacking to me in aroma but present, if not a little unusual, on the palate. Not my favorite but goes down easily enough.

12oz bottle with a date. drank up out tha bottle.

look i can't comment on, the smell was average - bready malts and stinky pine-and-grass hops. taste is very average but enjoyable, with more fruity hops than the nose suggests. average medium feel with a syrupy finish.

ok but doesn't match up with the giants of the style, more of a hoppy amber. as an ipa it's unimpressive.

Enjoy by 3/27/14.

Pours a clear golden orange with a foamy orange-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grapefruit juice, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with metallic, pine, and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer that smells decent enough, but there is something making this one super metallic tasting and fairly undrinkable.

12 oz. bottle, with best by date December 12, 2013 printed on the bottleneck, so I'm a few days late, but that worries me not. Surprisingly, this is my first review of a beer from Boulder Beer.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a brassy golden orange with one finger of soft fluffy white head. Some thin scattered lacing. Fairly unimpressive, but it looks alright.

S - Smell is pretty off for the style. No real grapefruit hop aromas like the label describes, but more of a dried grass / peppery herbal smell, musty yeast, bready malt, and some green apple. Slight alcohol fumes. Not particularly bad smelling, but definitely off for the style.

T - Taste is of smooth clean caramel / amber malt, grains, breadiness, earthy yeast, some green apple, & grass.

M - Feel is smooth, clean, and bready. Light bitterness on the finish. Fairly light-bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, a strange IPA. Maybe more of a pale ale of sorts than it is an IPA, but it works. Very drinkable, especially at 7.20% abv. Glad to have had it, and I look forward to more from this brewery.

I love the label, and would consider buying a cycle jersey with this logo, but the beer itself... Kind of "meh"... There is not a lot of hops aroma or flavor. It's IPA Lite IMHO... very refreshing, but it lacks the hop dominance that I personally look forward to in an IPA.

I'm tasting it head-to-head with three other IPA's: Pyramid Outburst, Anderson Valley Heelch O'Hops and Oskar Blues Deviant Dales. Of the four, this is the weakest...

Consumed from a pint glass over 20 compelling minutes.
Golden body, creamy head with nice retention and plenty of lace.
Lemongrass, resin and malty sweetness characterize the nose--but all components are rather muted.
Wicked complex flavor profile. Evolving from a creamy malt foundation with a hop center and a fine bitter end.
The nitro makes this medium-bodied brew, creating a very creamy feel that counterbalances the hop bitters beautifully.
Creative and inspiring product that is particularly enhanced by the nitro. It's hard to articulate the superiority of this mojo if all you get to try is a bottle; it's not the same, Baby!

A: A slightly hazy golden amber color. Two fingers of tan head that left lacing all around the glass.

S: Pine, grapefruit and sweet orange. Slightly floral smell in there. There is a fairly strong malt presence.

T: It is the nose to the tee. It is malty as the nose indicated.

M: Medium body with a medium-light carbonation.

O An interesting concept. A floral IPA that actually has a solid malt backbone. This is something I don't seem to find too often and found myself enjoying quite a bit.

On tap at a crappy airport bar in Denver International Airport into a pint glass. Reviewed from notes dated August 30, 2013.

A-My brew arrived with about one finger of sticky, white head. The lacing is pretty good. The brew is golden-orange color and mostly clear. A good look for the style.

S-The aroma is a bit off...I get some onion, straw, and floral scents from the hops. The malts are pretty dry and don't provide much aside from a slightly chalky, crusty bread note. It gets better as it warms with more floral notes and less onion.

T-The taste is similar to the smell, but slightly improved with more fruit and floral notes in the hops (and, I suppose, some fruit from the pale malts). There is some orange and slight bitter hit on the finish. The malts provide a little more balance on the tongue than in the nose.

M-The feel is soft with a moderate body and a lightly oily, coating feel. Carbonation is mild.

O-This beer is fair. I could not get into the hop flavors here, which were sort of odd and non-descript. The malts are sort of absent on the nose, but make an appearance as the brew gets warmer and provide a nice bit of balance. On the positive side, this brew looks good and has a nice feel.

Poured from a 12oz standard pressure-cap bottle into a pint glass in high elevation Kalispell, Mont. Reviewed live.

A- Three-finger thick white head with long retention atop a golden body with active carbonation. Fine looking IPA.

S- Floral and fruity hops. Tasty pineapple, fruits and flowers. Like a hippie in a glass but smelling nicer.

T- Fruity and very juicy. Slightly bitter, but more sweet than anything.

M- Juicy and wet with a lighter body and clean finish. Nice feel for an IPA.

O- Great beer. Very happy with taste, smell and feel.

Mojo is a straight amber color, clear with a consistent activity rising from the bottom of the glass. It aids in building up the thick, creamy finger-tall head. Lacing is left in creamy sheeting under a thick ring.
The nose is earthy and a little spicy with some pine and leaf. A note of something like spruce is in the bitterness. There's a mild chalky astringency underlying.
Chalky, aspirin pith is strong up front, though all the leafy, piney, earthy, spruce and spicy notes are still present. Hopheads will enjoy this, though someone looking for an exceptionally crafted beer will desire more balance.
This beer glides on the tongue, silky smooth without losing any crispness. The medium body offers good support, and the body goes somewhat dry but just as smooth from middle to finish.

Great beer, very aromatic good looking beer.

The color is amber, with one finger white head that stays for several minutes leaving a moderate lacing on the glass.
The aroma is spectacular very citrusy and hoppy with some sweetness.
Taste of malt sweetness, bread, that goes very well with the hops and bitterness

Pours slightly hazy, orange/amber color. Little head.

Super citrusy smell. Orange dominates. Bit of a lighter fruit as well, melon. Just gushing with fruit.

Taste is more pine than I thought would be in it. Earthy. The citrus flavors that dominated the smell give way to the malty characteristics.

Pretty sweet, very drinkable. Very good beer.

One of my favorite IPAs. VERY flavorful, aromatic, and hoppy. The age of the beer matters. It is not a hot seller, so the lower ratings are probably a result of people who had a batch that was less than fresh. I highly recommend this beer. It goes ok with food, but I believe that flavor deserves your undivided attention. Try it with a cleansed palate and you will understand.

Poured from a bottle with Enjoy By Aug 28, 2013, Into a tulip.
Appearance - Crisp, clean and gold, fluffy white head, loads of lacing.
Smell - a nice mix of citrus, grassy, and piney hops, as well as some herb! I love the nose of this beer; it's there from start to finish!
Taste - follows the nose nicely and has a terrific hop bite!
Feel - really easy to drink at 7.2 ABV and wakes up the taste buds!
Overall - This is an underrated beer IMO and a terrific value!

I had this beer on draft (nitro) served in a pint glass at SDTaproom during a recent trip to San Diego. Beer arrived with a thick, dense nitro head on top of a beer that is a dark straw color. Aroma was a little hoppy and I thought perhaps a little metallic. Soft hop flavor with creamy mouthfeel that you would expect from a nitro beer.

Bottle > Pint Glass
A - Poured a very nice yellow color with a thick 2 finger head, and nice lacing.
S - Smells great! Fresh lemon zest, honey, pine, caramel malts, biscuits, orange juice, and peach.
T - Now this is where things start to fall apart, All the nice fruit flavors mentioned in smell are nearly non existent here, which is a huge shame. Bitter floral hops up front, a little bit of orange and lemon zest, biscuit malt, and some dried flowers, not really that great.
M - Thin feeling, and bitter aftertaste. The alcohol can be felt in this.
O - What started off as a good looking, good smelling beer lets down in the taste department drastically, I'm shocked there was this big of a difference, maybe I need to get a super fresh one, but I cant see it being far off from what I've tasted. For an average IPA, weighing in at 7.2, I'd rather have more flavor.

A: Light orange/yellow. Clear with lots of bubbles. Thin fizzy head that goes away to nothing. Watery looking.

S: Grapefruit and lemon zest. caramel. Touch of pine. A Pleasant smelling IPA.

T: Light grapefruit, citrus. But well balanced with malt. On the sweeter side for an ipa. orange blossom. Again, pleasant.

M: Thin but not completely watery. Appropriate body. Plenty of carbonation. Crisp. Short bitter aftertaste

O: Avery sessionable IPA. Nothing offensive but not complex. The word pleasant just keeps coming to mind.

Serving Type: $1.65 12oz bottle at Total Wine. Poured from the bottle into a Rock Bottom pilsner glass, with a decent aroma collecting top.

Appearance: Amber/orange in color. Not entirely dissimilar from Nugget Nectar, though a high level of clarity. I'd have to guess filtered.

Smell: This is where things fall apart. Just sort of a big mess of Del Monte fruit cocktail, honey, and cheap [herbal glaucoma remedy]. The fruit cocktail became more pronounced as it warmed.

Taste: Oh yeah... big honey and assorted canned fruits. Some tangerine creeping out from under the weighty mess, but not enough to scream "I'M AN IPA!".

Mouthfeel: Actually not bad. Had a decent mouthfeel for an IPA. Neither too thin nor too thick.

Overall: The bottle said: "ENJOY BY MARCH 19", so I'm 13 days away from the end of code, but still... This couldn't be any less of an IPA. I've had worse beers, but I just don't see the point in buying this one again.

22 oz. bomber, enjoy by May 1. Should be pretty fresh then.

A: Clear body, a bit on the light side. Decent retention. Lots of carbonation bubbles floating up to the top.

S: Candy, bread, some alcohol present in the nose.

T: Hmm. Not as many hops as I would like, and a skunky aftertaste. Some citrus, but it comes off tasting like cheap candy.

M: Thin, good carbonation levels though.

O: Not a good beer. I'm going to have a Lagunitas Sucks to wash this bad taste out of my mouth.

Served from tap into a sampler shaker. Poured a golden yellow with a one finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, bread, citrus, pine, and pine hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, pine, citrus, fruit, pine hop, and spicy hop. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. I honestly went into this one not really expecting much. However, what I found was surprisingly pretty good. There was a very nice balance of flavors going on here that definitely sparked my interest. While this one was obviously quite hop forward it was by no means overpowering which was very nice. A definite must try if you see it on the menu and have never had it. It might just surprise you like it did me.

Pours brilliant clear gold, light but a darker top. Light foam layer. Light oily pine nose. But subdued. Light malty bitter taste. Quite mild. Good bitter buzz throughout. Grapefruit flavor, nice and balanced. Sneaky at 7.2%.

A: Pours a clear golden color with a huge off white head. Tons of sticky lacing down the glass.

S: Lots of floral and grapefruit hop notes with a good amount of sweetness. Candied citrus, honey and caramel.

T: Lots of grapefruit, caramel and some floral hops. Middle brings some biscuity malt. A touch of hop resin and a lot of malt sweetness on the finish. Maltier than I'm used to, but still a solid IPA.
