Served on tap at Plan B in West Hartford, Ct.
Hazed amber with a foamy head that laces pretty well in a pint glass.
Nice piney and citrusy smell.
Taste is a a very well balanced pine and grapefruit hoppy bitter with just the right amount of caramel malt. Slightly biscuity. Finish is very clean with a lasting bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel was medium with a good amount of carbonation.
Very drinkable...had a few of these with a burger and fries.

Beer poured a golden amber color, clear with white head. Aroma was a pleasant mixture of citrus and pine, with a touch of sweetness. The taste is very distinctly Ameircan IPA, from the citrus, pine and earth hops to the slight malt sweetness trying to balance it out. Overall this is a good example of the style, but one that doesn't stand out in any particular way. Still, a very solid, sessionable IPA.

Slightly hazy copper color from draught pour. Enjoyed from the source in Boulder, CO.

Nose is a pleasing citrusy orange dominant aroma, with miscellaneous citrus and pine in the background. Big and pleasant orangey hops. Nice.

On the palate enough malt is present to balance out the hops but overall the orangey hop spice wins. I find this extremely appealing, as the beer becomes a lemonade (orangeade) of beers - great for thist quenching when you have that citrusy craving.

Finish is moderately long with plenty of tartness. Yum.

On tap at Tampa Bay [one of the last, and probably MY last time at the old brewpub--- hope the new one will be as good- will miss the upstairs] What a surprising treat, Seemed to pour like a cask-conditioned, the bar maiden had to spend some time coaxing it out with out foam over [and she said it's just like that, this was neither newly tapped, or at the end] Almost tasted like a double. Strong malt with stronger hops balancing out, even seemed to have a higher alcohol than the advertised 7% [maybe tbb got a special edition??]
Darker amber for an ipa, as mentioned before huge head! super sticky lace all the way down, coated the glass! Nice grassy flowery hoppy nose. Very nice. will try to get some bottles!

I've had this on bottle before, and it's definitely better on tap. Pours a fairly light color for an IPA - kind of a pale yellow-golden color, and call me crazy, but something seems a bit green about it. Nice thick white head, though not much lacing.

Strong lemon-zest kind of aroma, with a bit of pine to it. The aroma foreshadows the flavor - which, again, is a bit different from the bottle. From the tap it has a very pleasant lemony flavor, along with that piney hoppy IPA goodness that one would expect. Also doesn't taste quite like it's 7% - it's a bit sneaky.

Recommended from the bottle, but HIGHLY recommended on tap.

On tap at Old Chicago in Silverthorne, CO.

A: Pale copper with a creamy white head. Surprisingly light for an IPA.

S: A heady mix of citrus, tobacco, whipped cream and grass. Delicious.

T: There's a creamy, light fruitiness on the front of the palate with hints of banana and pineapple. This gives way to a bitter hop wallop--very fresh and resiny--with a long, hoppy aftertaste.

M: Medium-body, as one would expect. Nice and fluffy across the palate.

D: Good, especially for such a bitter IPA. It does a great job of whetting the appetite.

I hadn't had this in a while and was happy to give it a second look--especially on tap. Worth a first or second look for you too.

Poured into a pint glass, slightly hazey, tan copper. Smell of grapefruit in the hops, blueberry notes as it warms.

Juicy apple pear fruit start and finish of lime and orange rind hops. Great hop burps that had me thinking I'd ate a sugared Christmas wreath.
Medium body, carbonation shows up right to keep things even. Bitterness is enjoyable, not overwhelming.

After all the IPAs I've had recently, I didn't expect much from the Mojo but it turns out I like this stuff. Smooth sip, nice body, super piney hop burps, I'll have to try it again in the future.

Draught: This beer pours a darker amber color with some off-white head. It does leave some lacing down the glass. There are definite notes of grapefruit and pine to the nose. Maybe a hint of floral also. The taste is fairly well balanced, with a decent malt body. Slightly bitter taste with flavors of grapefruit and pine. A decent quaff.

Appearance: Slightly hazed orange copper off white head fine sporadic lacing is left, not bad. Aroma: Citrus, hop leaf grassy notes along with grapefruit tones balanced with a rolling malt base that is evident here. Taste: Hoppy IPA, the bitterness takes shape with a rolling pine and citrus mainly grapefruit expression, with the malt base forming a creamy sweetness blended with the solid offering of hops. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with a nice strong carbonation and slightly oily somewhat resinous texture. Drinkability: Very nice all around IPA served on draft at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse, hop burps were plentiful.

I got to sample this beer at Old Chicago's in Sioux Falls SD. Nice to know that we can get good beer in SD. Mojo poured a magical copper color that is very consistent with an IPA. A clear color that shows it has been filtered. A decent head that remained for some time but eventually did disappear. Limited lacing.

The smell was a good medium aroma as far as IPA's go. It wasn't overpowering knockout but it was still noticeable. A good pine smell with some grassy notes on the top. There is a malt backing with a sweet almost cinnamony tone to it.

The taste is well balanced. A good aroma kick at first with stronger citrus and grassy tastes. Not much on the bittering side this beer is mostly consistent of aroma hops. There is no oily taste, which can be noticeable with floral hoppy beers. The malt is very sweet. It is light and kind of basic in flavor but some hints of biscuit and breadiness are noticeable.

The beer is medium body. And I was pretty surprised it was 7%. Very smooth and easy drinkable beer. Overall this was a good IPA. Good presence of floral, smooth to drink. I would recommend this one for sure.

On tap at O'neill's Pizza Pub. Poured into a chilled pint class, that I allowed to warm before tasting.

Hazy bronze color with a small creamy white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is of pine and herbal hops. The taste is fantastic. Herbal hops, and piney with a small bit in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, rich, and smooth with ample carbonation. Overall, this is a very good IPA.

The beer pours a golden color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a nice malty scent that boasts of pale and light crystal malts. It also has a wonderful hop aroma. It's dry and bitter with floral notes. The taste is awesome. It has a very bitter, floral hop flavor that goes down easy and finishes dry with a slight malt feel. This is quite enjoyable. The mouthfeel is good. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a damn fine IPA. It has a good malt flavor along with outstanding hop character; a good drinker.

Sampled at the '05 American Beer Fest.

Pours with a nice clear amber body and a frothy white head. The aroma was a nice, aromatic and floral hops body, with nice depth. The taste was quite good as well, with a nice bitter note complemented by some of the softer hops character and some gentle maltiness, and just a hint of citrus. One of the more pleasant IPAs I've sampled recently, and one I hope to try again soon.

Very hazy amberish color with a very nice looking head. The smell was predominatly hops but very amromatic hops that I really liked. Very tasty and mostly tasted of hops but tasted great. Very hoppy character. I like IPA's and this definatly was one of the better ones that i have had. Definatly give this one a shot if you have the chance.

On-tap @ Bukowski Tavern in Boston, MA.

Served hazy orange with a big, frothy white head. Left tons of lacing on the 12 oz. Hoegaarden glass it was served in (very cool). Huge floral hop aroma. Upon taking my first sip I could only think of one thing: pine trees. Very piney taste, think of eating your christmas tree and you'll get the idea. Dry mouthfeel from all of the hops, but not overwhelmingly dry. This beer's intensity did bring down it's drinkability for me. This a very good beer that will suit any hop head's craving.

On tap at Buk's in beantown. Very hoppy IPA.

Not a very dark beer, a tad coppertoned. A two fingered head didn't lace the glass very well.

Very hoppy/floral smell, makes your mouth water.

Hops overpower the palate, to which I am always submissive. there were smoe fruity esters in the background though, maybe banana? I will have to drink more to investigate.

A great beer for hop heads

I was lucky enough to enjoy a pint of this in solitude while waiting on some friends to join me for dinner. I believe that Mojo is my first experience with this brewery and it certainly didn't disappoint. It pours a cloudly but brilliant orange with an aggressive billowing white head. Smell is citrusy but well balanced by malt. I was surprised by how mellow the first taste was. I was expecting a large hop bite but the malt does a great job of balancing out the hop flavors. It's still very crisp and grapefruity but without over the top bitterness. Refreshing beer that definitely hides it's ABV very well. I will probably be having this again, hopefully from the bottle to see how that version is.

on tap at Redbone's, also Bukowski's Cambridge

Clear light gold under a dense white head.

Bursting with citrus fragrance, not just grapefruit, but orangey sweetness and lemony brightness.

Zowie! Bitter with lots of grapefruit. As the attack dies down, a milktoast malt attempts to make itself known. Suggestions of apricot emerge, and a curious hazelnut note in the finish, with a tinge of varnish amid the lingering grapefruit rind. Tasty, tasty stuff, though a hair too sharp for me.

Vigorous carbonation and medium body.

Number one witha bullet. Every time I see this on offer, I get it, no question.

On tap at the Boston Buk's. Nice hazy orange/amber with a nice frothy head of egg-white coloured foam. Aromas of fresh citrus peel hops, and a boatload of sugary malts to back it up. Taste is hoppy, but subdued by the massive maltiness, definatley not an over-the-top-hop-monster in any way, shape, or form. Just a damn good drinking IPA from Colarado. Mouthfeel is creamy for a tap beer, and drinkability is good.

Appearance – This IPA is thick and hazy. The orange color almost looks like a Belgian-style pale ale. The head also is very thick, although it went down rather quickly.

Smell – This is a classic East Coast-style IPA. The hops are sharp and fruity and the ale has a wonderful, biscuity malt backbone.

Taste – This is a big ‘un. Again, the East Coast gumball is right on queue. The hoppy fruits are tangy and the biscuity yeast-type of malt gives this ale some terrific structure.

Mouthfeel – This medium to full-bodied Double IPA is expertly blended. It has some big carbonation (big for the style) and a bit of dryness at the end.

Drinkability – This classic East Coast IPA just melts in your mouth out of the tap. It is brilliantly balanced and a true heavy hitter.

Comments – I had this on-tap at Anam Cara for the 2004 Belgian Beer Fest pre-party and boy oh boy was it a treat.

Fought some Fembots with this one on 8/25/2004. 16-oz. pour at ACPH in a pint glass.

Thin but focused head with some cratering at start that left some traces as the pour shortened. Very pale gold to straw in hue; just slightly darker than The Tap’s Supershow 69, for those who have had it. Nose is assaulted by a sharp, bitter hop bite, but left me saying, “Thank you, sir, may I have another?” There may have been other things floating about, but the hops simply overwhelmed them if they were there. Tingly, sparkly hop bitterness ran up and through the roof of the mouth and middle of the tongue, lingering for a long period of time afterwards. The lasting hop impression was accompanied later by some light lemon zest notes and other citrus flavors, perhaps grapefruit. This is one I would happily indulge in.

On tap during Rich O's Lupulin Land 2004.

Beer arrived a nice golden amber with pretty dense, but medium thickness head. I had to knock the appearance down a little due to lack of much lacing.

Smell was very nice, lots of nice floral hops without being completely over the top.

Taste was also excellent, burst of citrusy hops right from the beginning. Mildly malty and sweet in the middle with a clean brief finish.

Very very good.

On tap at Bukowski's in Boston

Pours a bright copper with a solid head. Good amount of lacing.

Smells of flowery hops, malt and somewhat of alcohol.

Taste of hops, malt and light alcohol.

Mouthfeel wasn't bad, not overpowering for such a hoppy beer.

Not terribly drinkable, but a very fine and recommended brew for hop heads and non hop heads alike.

This was my first beer on the BA O'Fest Crawl and it was a great way to start the day.

I first had this beer at the Throw Down, but didn’t get a chance to rate it. I was very happy to see it on tap at RedBones today, and was even more surprised when it showed at Bukowski’s, so I got to verify my original taste. The color is a bright golden to copper. It usually has a nice full head. Light lace, not too heavy. The nose has a lot of the floral elements delivered by the hops. There is a subtle malt character in the nose too. The taste is big hops in the front, a big walloping bite. The floral character of the hops comes through mid quaff, with a mild alcohol bite on the back end. Not much malt to speak of. I’m not complaining, this is easily one of my favorite high-hop IPAs. It has a medium mouth feel, and despite the hop hit, is very drinkable.

Added note: Just had my 1st 12 oz bottle of this beer, and it doesn't dissapoint. A little clearer than from tap. Same flowery aroma, and initial hop wallop in the taste. Perhaps just a little less malt character, but a gain this beer is VERY satisfying. Still one of my favorite IPAs.

Had this beer on tap at Anam Cara.

This beer poured a small white head with a matte dull yellow

A very fruity hoppy smelling head. Citrus fruits with some milder fruit tones as well. Not your typical black pepper, sharp citrus monster. It’s there, but this one is a bit more toned down with in the nose with a soft fruitiness.

The taste was along the same lines. Very round, big hop taste. Medium bodied with some firm malt that can stand up to the hops but never really come to the forefront. Citrus peel, but with a big juicy fruit and hop combo. Also very bitter but balanced well against the malt.

Really a very nice IPA, nothing that really stands out as outstanding. I’d definitely go for another one of these if it were one of only a few choices. Sitting next to Stone ruination or IPA though…. I’d pass
