Served as a pint from a nitro-tap at Winking Lizard.

A- beautiful honey amber color with a finger and a half head. Great appearance.

S- dull, malty smell. Almost no hop or floral scent.

T- relatively underwhelming taste. Odd-tasting hops with hints of alcohol

M- creamy head yields a nice feel in the mouth. Not strong alcohol notes. Easy to drink.

O- glad I tried this one. I can't say I'd consciously get it again, but still a decent IPA choice.

A-Pours an illuminated orange color. Body is hazy. Head is full-figured. Head retains very well and laces just the same.

S-The smell is very subdued. There is some citrus and grain. Grassy and breaded as well. The nose is in some aspects very nice but it is very mellow and there is a metallic twang hovering around too.

T-The flavor is no better. The proper components are there but they are tainted by an off-putting copper flavor. Also, the flavors are far too underwhelming in terms of intensity.

M-Lighter than the ABV would suggest. Bubbly enough. Decent feel.

O/D-Overall, I was not happy with this brew. A subpar IPA in my opinion. Perhaps something was amiss.

A - Pours a deep gold with a thick foamy head that leaves an insane amount of lacing on the glass. Good so far!

S - Not picking up on a lot of hops. Lots of citrus and some butter cookie, almost like a rum scent. Pleasant, but doesn't scream IPA.

T - NOW THIS IS AN IPA! The hops hops hops! Delicious balance between sweet and bitter. The hops come rushing in like a tsunami with a citrus punch that's buttery smooth. The assault on my taste buds is followed by a deep cookie flavor, yellow cake taste and more hops, and finally waves goodbye with yet another blast of hops and a twinkie sweetness. Perfection.

M - Silky smooth, like swishing velvet about in my mouth. Foamy creamy and smooth, the way it should be. No wateriness or greasiness, just smooth cold deliciousness.

O - I've had my fair share of IPAs (another of my favorite style) in my time, and I must say that none of them have had as profound an effect on me as Mojo. The appearance, the taste, the feel, the soul of this beer is perfect. A class act of a beer and one that I recommend you try as soon as possible!

Our friends at Boulder Beer Company have really done it this time...

"Nitrogen is used under high pressure when dispensing creamy beers because it displaces CO2 to (artificially) form a rich tight head and a less carbonated taste. This makes the beer feel smooth on the palate and gives a foamy appearance."

We enjoyed Mojo IPA on Nitro tap at the Forge Publik House in Fort Collins and were amazed at the difference a little N can make. This beer puts on a show as it settles in the glass! A creamy orange color brew settles under a cascade of tiny nitrogen bubbles that float to the top to create a dense, off-white cap of foam that lasts throughout the drink and sticks all over the glass. Sweet floral and citrus hops dominate the nose, with some biscuity malt buried under the hops. A quick 1-2 punch of floral and citrus hops subside into a nice toasty and biscuity hop backbone, well balanced and a little more in tune then a normal Mojo. Medium in body, this Mojo is super creamy and almost silky in texture, thanks in part to the N. Charge up a few more, our new favorite IPA in town!
