poured into a perfect pint

poured a pale, straw color with little head, no lace. smelles a mix of citrus and spice. can note some hops. very bland taste, like watered down citrus. very light feel, not very refreshing for the citrusy smell taste. not very impressed, but then again, i got it for free

I've been delinquent on my reviews....I'm going LIFO now, unfortunately.

A - Nicely clouded, it's good to see an American Pale Wheat that hasn't been filtered to hell. About as much foam as you'd expect.

S - Some nice wheat bread, a little of that musty wheat aroma. No clove or banana, but no points deducted as this is not trying to be a hefeweizen.

T - Tasty. I didn't smell any banana, but I actually taste some. Lot of fresh, light wheat with just a little alcohol nip.

F - Feel is a step above most American Pale Wheats, due to it being unfiltered. Has a slightly more creamy, robust feel than most, without becoming heavy.

D - This is a very good hot weather beer, just what the doctor ordered. A little underrated, I am a fan of this beer.

a- bottle poured into a weizen, light yellow hazy color, one finger white bubbly head, minimal carbonation, decent lacing mix of wisp and bubbles with a ring around the glass.

s- sweet floral wheat, banana, spices, little lemon.

t- nice light wheat flavor, i get some banana, minimal citrus, finish isn't too dry, nice.

m- little thin, but still goes down very easy, it's almost creamy.

d- very drinkable on a nice hot day, i'd have another one.

Appearance - cloudy straw.

Smell - cloves, bananas, grain, nutmeg.

Taste - the bananas sock you right in the mouth followed quickly by lots of good wheat notes.

Mouthfeel - tons of effervescence. Light and crisp.

Drinkability - This broad would be good on a hot day, but the bananas may overwhelm some palettes.

Small, dense white head. Extensive bubbles coming up from the bottom. Cloudy as expected. Dark straw/light gold color.

Notable but muted wheat presence. Golden malt aromas.

Close resemblance to the spicy Belgian Whites. Lots of wheat, providing a souring finish. Very highly carbonated; tiny bubbles, there's some body to counterbalance this, but it is still quite spritzy on the tongue.

Pours a hazy golden with good carbonation. Head is there..but not as much as it should be in a wheat beer. Perhaps my pour wasn't aggressive enough. There was a decent amount of foam though

Aroma: Wheat, banana, citrus and clove..fairly typical for the style. I approve

Taste: The citrus is pretty upfront along with the wheat and clove coming through. Banana..not so much, but the other flavors balance out well

Mouthfeel: Light, well carbonated. Refreshing

Drinkability: Very much so. A pretty good representation of this style. Recommended

A very decent pale wheat. Appearance is golden with some head and almost no lacing. Smell is good but a bit weak with sweet malt and caramel coming through. Taste has a bit more of dry fruit on the back end but other than that prety straight forward. Mouthfeel is right on par, well carbonated and light. Drinkability is good.

On-tap at Flying Saucer served in a standard pint glass a crisp light yellow with a decent off-white head that diminishes to a thin layer. Aroma is slight Earthy hops, sweet malts and sweet fruit. Taste is a nice blend of wheat and hops with a hint of spice and bubblegum. The beer is quite light crisp and refreshing. This is a decent summer beer.

A: Bright, clear straw/gold color. Poured a 2 finger rocky white head with good retention; was an aggressibe poir. Thin, sticky lacing. Decanted continually.

S: Wheat malt, light floral hops and citrus ; very clean (almost too clean)

T: Light fruity taste up front, the bready wheat, ciitrus and light clove. Not too complex.

M: Light body. Ample carbonation. Crisp and fizzy.

D: Easily drinkable. Decent flavors, certainly nothing offensive - just nothing special either.

Pours a nice pale yellow/gold with a very nice looking quarter inch of nice thick white fluffy head.

Smell is a bit sour, a bit eggy and a bit sweet but not too sweet.

Taste is pretty straightforward, wheaty, a tad malty, a tad sour/bitter and overall a very light, refreshing beer..especially for a beer that comes in at almost 6%.

Easy drinking summer beer in my opinion.

From 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass

A - slightly hazy golden w/ a single finger head that doesn't have much retention and only very slight lacing

S - banana, clove, wheat malts and perhaps a spot of peaches??

T - a bit one dimentional, kinda thin in the flavor dept. wheat malt mostly, w/ slight clove spiciness(very slight)and also bananas. not bad overall just not much happening

MF - full fizzy and highly carbonated - very pleasant. others might find the high carb. a bit much, i found it very refreshing.

D - decent, nothing too extreme makes this a perfect warm weather beer.

Pours a light golden color with a one-finger head into my glass. A bit cloudy but not much.

Aroma is full of wheat, citrus and a bit of clove. Standard for the style and they show in the nose, which is critical.

Taste is light and citrusy with a good hint of wheat and clove upfront. Tasty. Clean and inoffensive.

Mouthfeel does feel a bit odd though. The wheat leaves a bit of veggie taste (not sure how to describe it) toward the middle-end of the mouth. Probably my taste buds are a bit off. Otherwise, it tastes like a standard american pale wheat ale with lingering clove and citrus as well.

Not bad. I like it and it's easy to drink and could be sessionable as well

First had this beer at the Philly Beer Fest and was happy to buy it again in bottel when my local brewspot started carrying it.

Betty is a lovely lady. Not too harsh or pungent, she flows easily from the bottle into a waiting glass. She smells lighter than she drinks. In an open glass, I was surprised that she didn't have as much of an odor as I remembered trying her on draft. (Of course, that could have been that I was in a huge room full of sweaty guys, but that's a post for a different site.)

It's when Betty touches your lips that she excels. Classic Blonde. Smooth and textured, with elements that hit both the tip of the tongue and hte back of the throat at the same time.

Betty will be in my rotation as long as she's around.

A: Very inviting hazy orange, large puffy white head.

S: Floral, some citrus.

T: Tart, like lime-aide. Some funkyness, like a Brett-bug funk--a Saison-like taste. Not what I expected, but nice.

M: Maybe a bit too much carbonation, but, light, and refreshing.

D: I sipped the 1st, for reviewing, then, the 2nd was gone in a several large quaffs. I'll buy it again. Problem is, there are SO many good choices now for warm weather beer.

Pours a cloudy, yellow color. 5/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of earthy malt, biscuit, lemon, and some tart malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and slightly thick with a average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight lemon, yeast cleanliness, some biscuit mustiness, and slight hop in the background. Overall, a good bodied beer with a slightly off aroma, but still worthy of a try.

A: Light, straw color. No head. I'll be honest, it looks like a Budweiser.

S: Clean, floral smell. Hints of wheat...

T: Light, get some fruity notes of apple up front, but some citrus notes of lime in the finish. Tangy, the acidity of citrus lingers. No hop flavors present, nor do I expect them to be.

M: Fizzy, carbonated - stings the tongue like soda.

D: It is definitely drinkable - easy to drink, decent flavors. Not a preference, however. Would drink again if offered, but probably not buying a six pack of this stuff...

I tried a bottle of this based upon a recommendation of a friend. As soon as I opened it up, the beer smelled like a yest-filled armpit which really turned me off.

I figured I would taste it anyway, but the taste was just as bad. The smell was so strong, it made my tongue go numb and I almost yakked in the beer itself.

Even when I gulped down the first sip, all I could taste was that yest-filled armpit smell in my mouth. It was bad. I usually like wheat ales, but this one was a loser.

D: Very nice summer brew.... I'll grab a few this summer...

Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into a turbulator.
Freshness date od July 2008.
1 finger cola like fizzy white head off the pour. Some spotty thin watery lace.
Color is a hazy golden unfiltered.

Aroma os lemon zest, dried hay, and lots of bready yeasty aroma.

Sweet and carbonated up front. Switching to a more gerainy flavor, lots of wheaty yeasty flavors, then at the swallow becoming more dry with a spice kick. Some sour lime rind like flavors off the linger.

Quite good and refreshing for the style. Wheats have never been my cup of rea, but this is great for the style.

Out of a 22oz bottle this beer was a slightly hazy pale gold color with tons of visible rising carbonation. The head was off-white, a full three fingers high, displayed modest retention as a cap and left some scattered lacing. The aroma was floral hops, wheat, lemon and orange zest and doughy malt. The flavors were much like a witbier, sweet citrus tang up front with wheat in the middle and some pale malt flavors in the background. Simple but pleasant enough. The flavors do seem to compete with each other a little, however. The body was medium, the mouthfeel a little watery and the carbonation good.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with robertsreality (thanks!).

Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a very small sized white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves, grain and light citrus. When first poured I got a strong wet hay aromas that quickly went away. Tastes of bananas, wheat and light cloves. Starts of lightly honey sweet and ends in a light tart finish.

A - Pours a golden yellow with little foam

S - orange, lemon & wheat

T - it just had a plain wheat taste to it. nothing too exciting

M/D - This one is very drinkable but only because there isn't alot of taste to it. You could drink many in a row and not be over excited, there aren't any overpowering flavors to be too much.
A decent beer but not one I would seek out.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin fizzy white head that diminishes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is musty, stinky earthy yeast with some banana and clove and a little citrus.

The flavor is wheaty malts with some yeast and a little spice and some sweet fruits. The flavor is pretty subdued and a little watery. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a watery texture and a touch of harsh carbonation.

Overall, a pretty bland mix of a hefeweizen and a wit.

This beer pours a semi-cloudy pale orange color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes quickly for a wheat beer into a thin cap of lacing. The aroma is of of orange peel, lemon zest, and tangy wheat. The aroma is tangy, with only hints of the lemon and orange peel from the aroma. The mouthfeel is thin and water; not what I would expect from even an American wheat beer. Overall, this is a decent beer that I could drink again.
