Pours a cloudy, yellow color. 5/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of earthy malt, biscuit, lemon, and some tart malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and slightly thick with a average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight lemon, yeast cleanliness, some biscuit mustiness, and slight hop in the background. Overall, a good bodied beer with a slightly off aroma, but still worthy of a try.

A: Light, straw color. No head. I'll be honest, it looks like a Budweiser.

S: Clean, floral smell. Hints of wheat...

T: Light, get some fruity notes of apple up front, but some citrus notes of lime in the finish. Tangy, the acidity of citrus lingers. No hop flavors present, nor do I expect them to be.

M: Fizzy, carbonated - stings the tongue like soda.

D: It is definitely drinkable - easy to drink, decent flavors. Not a preference, however. Would drink again if offered, but probably not buying a six pack of this stuff...

I tried a bottle of this based upon a recommendation of a friend. As soon as I opened it up, the beer smelled like a yest-filled armpit which really turned me off.

I figured I would taste it anyway, but the taste was just as bad. The smell was so strong, it made my tongue go numb and I almost yakked in the beer itself.

Even when I gulped down the first sip, all I could taste was that yest-filled armpit smell in my mouth. It was bad. I usually like wheat ales, but this one was a loser.

Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into a turbulator.
Freshness date od July 2008.
1 finger cola like fizzy white head off the pour. Some spotty thin watery lace.
Color is a hazy golden unfiltered.

Aroma os lemon zest, dried hay, and lots of bready yeasty aroma.

Sweet and carbonated up front. Switching to a more gerainy flavor, lots of wheaty yeasty flavors, then at the swallow becoming more dry with a spice kick. Some sour lime rind like flavors off the linger.

Quite good and refreshing for the style. Wheats have never been my cup of rea, but this is great for the style.

Out of a 22oz bottle this beer was a slightly hazy pale gold color with tons of visible rising carbonation. The head was off-white, a full three fingers high, displayed modest retention as a cap and left some scattered lacing. The aroma was floral hops, wheat, lemon and orange zest and doughy malt. The flavors were much like a witbier, sweet citrus tang up front with wheat in the middle and some pale malt flavors in the background. Simple but pleasant enough. The flavors do seem to compete with each other a little, however. The body was medium, the mouthfeel a little watery and the carbonation good.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with robertsreality (thanks!).

Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a very small sized white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves, grain and light citrus. When first poured I got a strong wet hay aromas that quickly went away. Tastes of bananas, wheat and light cloves. Starts of lightly honey sweet and ends in a light tart finish.

A - Pours a golden yellow with little foam

S - orange, lemon & wheat

T - it just had a plain wheat taste to it. nothing too exciting

M/D - This one is very drinkable but only because there isn't alot of taste to it. You could drink many in a row and not be over excited, there aren't any overpowering flavors to be too much.
A decent beer but not one I would seek out.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin fizzy white head that diminishes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is musty, stinky earthy yeast with some banana and clove and a little citrus.

The flavor is wheaty malts with some yeast and a little spice and some sweet fruits. The flavor is pretty subdued and a little watery. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a watery texture and a touch of harsh carbonation.

Overall, a pretty bland mix of a hefeweizen and a wit.

This beer pours a semi-cloudy pale orange color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes quickly for a wheat beer into a thin cap of lacing. The aroma is of of orange peel, lemon zest, and tangy wheat. The aroma is tangy, with only hints of the lemon and orange peel from the aroma. The mouthfeel is thin and water; not what I would expect from even an American wheat beer. Overall, this is a decent beer that I could drink again.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler glass.

Sweaty Betty pours a hazy yellow/orange color. The label of the beer shows a very large overflowing head in the background, but thats just a lie. In reality it had a very small white head. It also left almost no lacing. It smells very very sweet. Doesn't really smell like anything in particular, just a sweet wheat beer. The taste seems very average.

Sweaty Betty is a very drinkable wheat beer but it's very lacking in looks, smell, and taste.

This one pours a bright, clear yellow color, topped by a two finger white head. The head falls to a thin crown and leaves only specks of lace.

The aroma is lemon, banana with some accompanying butter. Taste is pretty lemony and honey. There is a small bit of hop bitterness. Overall, the taste is like lemon butter.

Mouthfeel is full flavored with a medium body.

A - Light golden yellow color with thin white head. Quickly fades and leaves no lacing and very little coverage.

S - Somewhat skunky smelling lemon and wheat mixture.

T - Beer redeems itself a little with the taste. Lemons and somewhat grainy wheat taste. The citrusy lemon taste is the primary taste though.

M/D - Light to medium bodied and a little on the chewy side. Very average wheat ale.

A: Poured from a bottle to a weizen glass. Had a pale yellow color and a cloudy consistency. Very small amount of head that dissipated quickly.

S: Extremely sweet smelling beer, with elements of citrus, wheat and spices in it. There was also a slight funk about it as well.

T: Like the smell, a little on the sweet side. Lemon, wheat, banana and some assorted spices. Okay, but not great.

M: A fair amount of carbonation and a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

D: All in all, this is an alright beer, but not something I'd come back to. The sweet quality of the taste is a little to cloying, but there is a decent amount of complexity to it.

M: Thin, light and crisp. Clean finish. 3.5

Pours a slightly hazed pale yellow color with a one inch bright white head. Decent retention.

Aroma is decent. Pretty typical, but some citrus notes, as well as the familiar tone. Kind of tangy and sweet.

Taste is fine. Some citrus and slightly spicey. A maltier finish. Not a whole lot there, kind of thin and lacking flavor.

Mouthfeel is fairly thin and watery with plenty of carbonation.

Drinkability is moderate. Very sessionable, but kind of boring and uninspiring.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden body with a small, though dense, white head.

Smell: Mild aroma smelling softly of wheat and lemons with a slight underlying note of yeast.

Taste: Pale, wheat malts with a tiny pop of sugared sweetness. Taste of lemon-flavored candy. Very minor, spicy hops and bitterness. Sip of cool, clean water. Hint of yeast. Lightly wheaty finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Just a light, lightly sweet, something wheaty beer, though it's a fine quaffer for hot summertime Atlanta drinking.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into a clear pint glass.

A: Straw yellow with a fizzy one-finger head and one thin rim of lace after an especially large quaff. Head has minimal to no retention -- gone in seconds.

S: Lively clove and fruity banana and lemon aromas mingle with a little tangy wheat. Smells like a hefe only with more citrus.

T: The taste is clean and crisp with citrus dominating the palate, but with plenty of banana and pear flavors and some yeastiness to boot.

M: Very clean and fairly dry with light medium body and medium-heavy carbonation. Aftertaste is yeasty and metallic.

D: Easy to drink and a nice summer offering from Boulder. It's not the best Looking Glass series beer, but it's enjoyable enough spin on a usually boring and underwhelming style.

Appearance - Quintessential cloudy golden color with a decent head that lingered for a while.

Smell - A bit citrusy with a fair amount of spices.

Taste - The taste actually reminds me a bit of Hoegaarden. Light pear flavor with a bit of banana and a good amount of spice.

Mouthfeel - Medium body with a good bit of carbonation. Finishes very smooth.

Drinkability - Even though it tastes a bit fair, it finishes well, and leaves a good aftertaste. This has actually become one of my favorite wheat beers.

I'll be honest, I am not a fan of wheat beers. I bought this sixer as an impulse because I wanted something I had not tried yet. I didn't realize it was a wheat beer till I got home. The saucy blonde with blue eyes on package was a cute idea, caught my eye in the craft beer section.

Beer poured a cloudy golden brown with a finger-width of head that soon faded.

Had a some-what spice, some-what earthy smell with slight tropical fruit under-tones

Taste had some of that fruity/cloying flavor to it that many adore and I can put up with. Well balanced, the notes were there and not too overpowering.

Nice fizziness! Almost reminded me of mineral water. As you swallow the fruity/banana/whatever flavors pass over the palette and you're left with a pleasant wheaty aftertaste. A bit sticky and a little thin, but that's just being critical.

Very drinkable given the style. The clean finish is very appealing in a wheat beer.

Lemony golden into my pint glass with a rocky crisp head that takes a few minutes to die down.

Aroma is mild, but for such a pale wheat, it's defintly a good amount of punch.

Taste is really a good punch for a light pale wheat. Nice grain and seedy flavors. Some fruity underripe bananna and an earthy spiceiness. Finish is a bit stickysweet, but overall a good mouthfeel.

A well made blonde/pale wheat. Goes dwn easy and is very enjoyable.

Sweaty Betty pours a pale lemony yellow with a slight haze and a nice lid of very fine, tight, white fluff.

Betty smells lemony with a tangy wheaty banana-nut bread maltiness and hints of clove.

The taste has some quite tangy and lightly toasted wheat as well some lightly tart lemon and banana with a touch of clove spiciness. The medium body has a nice and chewy, soft and creamy carbonation to it.

Sweaty Betty is a nice little APWA that has a definite hefeweizen lean to it. It doesn't have my favorite characteristics of the style, but is definitely one that I will enjoy again.

A nice dark gold color greeted my beer but not much cloudiness. Decent head that died quickly but left a lace ring around the mug. Weak smell did not give me anticipation for this beer. Very faint clove notes and smelled more like a lime than lemon or orange peel or anything. The taste improved on the smell, thankfully, somewhat. A little weak but a smooth medium-bodied beer that had a little sweetness from the wheat mixed with a decent punch of citric notes, most noticeable was the orange. A little sharp in the backbite but not bad. A light summer beer that isn't bad, but not a standout or anything.

A: Very hazy golden straw color. Head poured with very large fizzy bubbles that dissipated very quickly, leaving some sticky lacing behind.

S: Straw, yeast, freshly cut grass, pale malt, and a slight hint of floral hops.

T&M: I immediately notice that the carbonation is too low. I expect something more effervescent for this flavor profile. There is a lot of the grassy straw taste represented in the nose, with some sweetness and slight hop bitterness. Corn and wheat flavors present throughout.

D: I wish the carbonation was higher on this, but it is still pretty drinkable. Smooth and subtle, but there is some complexity if you look for it.

Poured from the bottle a slightly hazy yellow color with two fingers of bright white head.

Aroma of cloves, bananas, and Belgian yeast.

The taste is definitely Belgian by design which caught me by surprise. Big taste of bananas, bubble gum, lemon and wheat. Finish is quite clean.

Medium bodied and very carbonated.

An interesting and very drinkable beer. Should make a nice beer for the summer months for sure.
