Sweet name...and a 5.9% pale wheat ale? Niiice.

Very pale yellow color with a head that doesn't stick around too long. Smell is subtle ginger, coriander, cloves, and mild citrus.
Coriander (when overdone, I can't stand) is present in this beer, but it's fairly modest and doesn't distract too much from the wheat & citrus taste. Taste is light and refreshing. Slides down the hatch effortlessly.
You could drink cases of this stuff in the summer..and get pretty damn drunk doing so. A summer offering that's worth a try if you find it.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle. The lazy hazy straw color appeared with little bit of a head that disappeared as fast as it came.

Smelled of wheat and yeasty citrus aroma.

The taste was pretty standard for this style. I found it relaxing. I assumed the wheat malt was used.

The wheat malt was what I felt on the tip of my tongue.

I will talk with Betty again soon.

Nose here is a lot like a hefeweizen, really. Getting a lot of clove spiciness and lemon.

And the taste...again, lots like a hefeweizen perhaps even mixed with a wit. Lemon notes are very obvious at the get-go. This is paired with some good clove spiciness. Together, this is the body of the beer. At the finish, there is some sweet citrus (orange?), more cloves, and some wheat coming through. Certainly a sweet finish. Definitely a summer beer here.

I'm impressed by this beer's drinkability and character. I'm not exactly sure what separates this from a hefe, but it's definitely a tasty summer option.

I've been delinquent on my reviews....I'm going LIFO now, unfortunately.

A - Nicely clouded, it's good to see an American Pale Wheat that hasn't been filtered to hell. About as much foam as you'd expect.

S - Some nice wheat bread, a little of that musty wheat aroma. No clove or banana, but no points deducted as this is not trying to be a hefeweizen.

T - Tasty. I didn't smell any banana, but I actually taste some. Lot of fresh, light wheat with just a little alcohol nip.

F - Feel is a step above most American Pale Wheats, due to it being unfiltered. Has a slightly more creamy, robust feel than most, without becoming heavy.

D - This is a very good hot weather beer, just what the doctor ordered. A little underrated, I am a fan of this beer.

Poured from a bottle into a Pint glass.

Look - light golden color, clear, with about a finger's worth of off-white foam that dissipates quickly.

Smell - typical wheat beer smell, but more floral and sweeter than I've noticed from other wheats.

Taste and Mouthfeel - typical wheat beer taste too, but pretty smooth and subtle, not overwhelming at all. Texture is very well-balanced. Doesn't seem to have many or any added tastes, except for maybe a slight citrus flavor, to detract from the wheat.

Overall - not a bad brew at all, and I think a good representation of a wheat ale.

I do enjoy Hefe's and Pale Wheat Ale's so I may be a tad biased.

A: An extremely cloudy golden straw color. Minimal head. A decent amount of lacing.

S: Heavy banana smell, with some hints of coriander or clove.

T: Lemon, wheat, banana and spice all combed together. The banana hits first and the aftertaste is not overwhelmingly spicy but it is there.

M: Really crisp and smooth. Very light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation

D: I could drink this type of beer frequently. It is a very well rounded American Wheat.

Sweaty Betty, which thankfully in no way resembles its name in smell or taste, begins with a spicy, peppery, banana-and-clove-laden aroma that closely resembles a Belgian, but is separated by a bit more spice and wildness, and a hint of effervescent lemon.

On the tongue, the first notes are almost Flemish sour, but quickly turn into a clove-and-banana festival, accompanied by lemons, oranges, and berries. There is a not-very-subtle smack of good banana bread in here, eaten alongside a bowl Grape Nuts cereal. Small hints of bitter, citrusy hops waver around the edges, becoming more prominent late in the mouthful. The aftertaste is where most of the wheat flavor comes in, thick fields of wet grain sprinkling the tastebuds, as well as a continuation of the hops. Mouthfeel is medium-light, and carbonation is medium.

Overall, this is quite good beer, and unique enough in flavor to set itself apart from many of its peers. The brew is balanced and flavorful, and would, I suspect, be quite thirst-quenching in mid-summer. Worth trying.

From the 12 oz bottle stamped Jul1707 on the neck. Into a pint glass. Hazy, wheaty yellowish color with visible sediment from pour-swirl-pour. Thin white cap fades quickly leaving a thin ring and specks of lace. Nose of wheat, yeast, and spicy cloves. Tastes of spicy cloves, yeast, mild wheat. Light, spicy finish. Mouth is light and wet, with heavy carbonation yet still palatable. Drinkability is good; it’s tasty and smooth, inoffensive yet with a bit of spice. Alcohol is well masked.

Overall: Decent but nothing to actively pursue. Worth a try if one comes your way.

Pours a very pale yellow w/ a half finger of bright white head...disappears quite rapidly w/ a thin layer remaining.
Lacing is very thin, but has a bit of hold to the side of the shaker glass.
Aroma is a hint of spiced hops and sweet malt...decent.
Not a huge fan of wheat beers, but the flavor is enjoyable and has a decent dose of hops. Not as spiced as the nose was portraying, but enough to give this one a slight edge.
Mouthfeel and carbonation average for the style.
I could enjoy a few of these on a hot day such as this...another fine offering from Boulder...a nice addition to the lineup.
