a: A clear body, pale gold in color with a small off-white head.

s: Sweet floral hops.

t: Sweet malts pair with slightly piny, floral hops. Wonderfully balanced. Moderate hop bitterness.

m: medium body, appropriate carbonation. Not much to say here.

d: A sessionable, but still hoppy beer. Good American take on the style.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

A - Poured a slightly cloudy orange/amber color. Big head of white foam and good lacing.

S - Slightly malty. Very floral with a huge pine aroma.

T - Malty and biscuity up front, followed by a good amount of hoppy bitterness. Finishes off dry.

MF&D - Overall a pretty good beer, tasty and easily sessioned. I'd drink this one again

Appearance: Poured from the 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. The beer is copper in color, clear, with a 1/2 inch off white head. The head fades to a solid cover and leaves behind some lace as the beer is consumed.

Smell: Wonderfully hoppy aromas, piney and floral scents. As the beer warms as I slowly sip away, some grainy malt aroma comes through just past halfway.

Taste: This one has a good hop bitterness, but not over-the-top like many American IPAs. There is some balance here with some malts in the middle.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light in body, decent carbonation with a dry finish, yet a very "refreshing" beer.

Drinkability: This is a nicely done English IPA. While the hop presence is there, this beer has not overhopped just for the sake of making a big hoppy IPA. I enjoyed the 6 pack I purchased for just $4.99.

Split a bomber with a friend.

Appearance: Deep amber in color, clear, good sized head. Some lace.

Smell: Ruby red grapefruit, with some hibiscus. Juicy.

Taste: Slightly reminiscent of Mexican agua de jamaica in its floral hop character. Grapefruit finish - not what I was expecting in an English IPA - better than I was expecting, in fact, although not sure how true to style that makes it. Some English yeast character.

Mouthfeel: Light-medium body, good carbonation.

Drinkability: Good

Presentation: On tap, poured into an imperial pint glass down at Kelleher's on 11-19-09.

Appearance: Slightly hazy dark burnt orange beer with a thick ivory cap with good retention.

Smell: Bright piney goodness, and lots of it; this smells like a Christmas tree farm. There are some light toasty malts in the background as well; overall this is nicely balanced with neither the malt or the hops blotting out the other

Taste: Bigh fresh pine flavors combine with a light, delicate bitterness and just a bit of malt in the background. This is nice, light, and drinks like a session ale, even though the abv% is a bit on the high side for that. It's quite tasty and enjoyable, it's just a little bit lighter than you'd expect.

Mouthfeel: Light-light side of medium bodied

Drinkability: High

Conclusion: This is a really nice, nearly sessionable English IPA. The malty notes aren't quite as forward as they are in many English examples, but the hop bitterness is well-balanced with the malt and is fresh and tasty. A bit simple, but good nonetheless.

Appearance: Clear amber with good head and lacing.

Smell: Mostly hops, floral and grassy.

Taste: Yes! No tea-like bitterness, just a nice balance of sweetness and grassy hops.

Drinkability: Doesn't feel too strong, could be a nice starter beer for an evening.

Hey, I found an "English" beer that I like, but it comes from Colorado. Many of the English beers I've had have a metal or tea-like bitterness that I dislike. This doesn't, so good for it. A nice beer.

This beer was a transparent amber in color with a short tan head. The smell is hoppy and sweet. It has a really nice aroma. The taste is malty and hoppy at the same time, very nice balance. The hop flavor is slightly bitter and grassy. This is a pretty good beer! This is now my favorite Boulder Beer brew.

Pours a bright clear gold with a nice white head that laces nicely.
Not much dominant in the smell. Caramel and malt mostly.
Taste is pretty nice, the caramel dominates but in a mild way. There's some earth and wood, musky notes as well. It's very smooth and creamy for an IPA. Feels very smooth and mildly carbonated.
All these qualities make it super easy to drink. It goes down very easy and is a great hot weather drink. Very quenching.

From a 12 oz bottle with no date noted into my crystal mug. Nice hazy amber-orange color with minimal carbonation streams but a pillowy, craggy, off-white head that fades slowly yielding great retention and good lacing. Good looking brew. Nose of floral hops right out of the gate, piney, biting, with light citrus. There’s some malt in there, but it’s hiding behind the hops. In the mouth, it’s again floral hops up front with a bit of citrus, though the malt comes through to balance things out nicely, making this one a crisp, hoppy, yet ultimately drinkable beer. Lightly syrupy body with low carbonation is smooth; just enough carbonation to keep the flavor crisp. Drinkability is very good overall: this is a nice, tasty, sharp and enjoyable IPA.

Overall: Another solid offering from Boulder Beer, this one’s a nicely crisp and floral hopped IPA. Recommended.
