Presentation: 12oz brown, twist-off, fatty. No freshness date. Purchased in Denver, CO during the GABF 2000.

Appearance: Rich, clear brown with red tones. Nice frothy, sticky, creamy, off-white head. Settles to a respectable lace with large bubbles.

Smell: Sweet malts and milled grain aromas. Hops aromas are a bit hidden under the malt/grain.

Taste: Mouthfeel is smooth, rich and slick on the palate. Toasted and caramel malt flavours with some biscuity taste. Hint of diacetyl too. Raw malt/grain flavours come in, then a touch of dryness, then some herbal-like hop bitterness to balance the sweet malts and awaken the taste buds with a prickle. Bitterness is mild, watery. Finishes somewhat grain dry with a mild breadiness.

Notes: Simply put, a very nice brown ale.

Light brown color, medium white foamy head. Aroma is nutty, malty and sweet. Medium malts, lightly hopped. Nice malty flavor, nutty overtones. A little hoppy for a brown ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly malty, no bitterness.
