Thanks to markaberrant for this brew.
A hazy amber brown brew resulted from an aggressive pour that included a few swirls to include all the "haze". Nice three finger pale tan head from the swirling and pour, with decent retention. Can already tell that the lacing will be nice and sticky as clumps have already formed and stuck as the head slowly receeds.
Grapefruit and a pronounced floral fruit punch aroma greet my nose. Interesting. Some toasty malts, a solid bready quality, a hint of nuttiness and a touch of caramel lie underneath the fruity aromas.
No real surprises in the taste, which is much like the nose. The grapefruit and fruit punch come through initially, and as these flavours give way the malts reveal themselves again much as their nose.
Light-medium bodied brew. Decent hop profile well balanced with respect to the malts, slightly favours the hops according to the APA style. Almost finishes dry, and with a very mild hint of tea like astringency.
Very drinkable and refreshing brew, a good choice for summer sessions and refreshment. Certainly approachable as well. Thanks again Mark for this well made and tasty ale which would go down nicely at a family or work BBQ or picnic. Ill be looking for this at my favorite beer stores, and probably soon.

Enjoy By March 18, 2014. Another aged single purchased recently (two days ago) at a local liquor store. Check your freshness dates people!
a: Hazed amber with a huge inch and a half offwhite head which receded slowly to heavy surface foam and dense lacing.
s: Very mild fruit.
t: Caramel and bread malt up front followed by a light to moderate hop bite.
m: Medium, very good body, quite a bit of carbonation tingle.
o; A solid pale ale, probably not as well-flavored as when fresh, but still very drinkable and pleasant.

08/22/13 On tap. Pale ales are always full of surprises for me. Often they get overly hoppy, but that is not the case here. Not only is this an example of a well balanced brew it has a remarkably lingering aftertaste. I know this sounds weird but if you like a lot of hops, this may not be for you and if you hate hops, this is may not be happy spot either, but if you can appreciate a well crafted balance, somewhere between hop heaven and hell, put you money down on the D&I. IMO you'll get a better understanding of where I think the place hops have in this whole process.
