I had this originally at the Kyle Hollingsworth annual fest at Boulder Brewing in July 2011 but
here I'm tasting the 2012 version but in a can which are all over the Boulder area liquor stores right now.

Poured into a diconic
Massive lacing with a medium amber color looking very "organic" and hazy.

Smell is a standard mix of malty hoppiness for a good APA.

This beer is really all about the aftertaste and mouthfeel.
The aftertaste hits the back of the throat with the flavor of a particular hop
which I think is Centennial (I'll check against a reference beer and edit this if needed).
More bitter than floral.
Maybe some alcohol hit there?

Overall, it's worth checking out. If you're a fan of the bitterness, then go for it. If you
like a more floral, piney fresh-hop flavor then you're not going to be thrilled with this.

Poured from can into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a nice golden amber color with a big foamy head of a white color. The head has a great level of retention, very slowly fading to leave a great level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a bready and grainy smell mixed with some nice aromas of a more fruity nature. The fruit is a nice mix of citrus and tropical fruit smell with an orange mingling with some mango and papaya. Along with these aromas are some smells of a grassy and grapefruit hop as well as a bit of an earthy and hay-like aroma overall producing a rather inviting aroma.

Taste – The taste begins with a bready and slightly grassy flavor mixed with some lighter sweetness of a light fruit nature. The light fruit, which consists of an orange, apple and pear flavor, is very mild, with it growing even more so as the flavor advances to the end of the taste. While the sweeter flavors dwindle, so too does the bready flavors, with them being replaced by a more cracker like taste. Toward the end of the flavor profile, the grassy flavor gets slightly stronger in nature with it being joined by a light hay-like and earthy hop flavor, which in the end, leave a rather crisp and clean taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. The blend of body and carbonation are fantastic for the malty and moderately hoped flavors of the brew all while still maintaining an easy drinking and crisp feel for the brew. Great for the style.

Overall – This was a very easy drinking and rather tasty APA. I rather enjoyed this one and will certainly go back to it.

We had this beer out of 22 Oz bottle. At the beginning the smell is very promising, nice aroma of hops and malt. Nice stable foamy head that keep on it's stability.
First sip, the beer is very heavy on the body, very syrupy and less malty.
Tons of heavy long after tastes.

12oz can, a souvenir from Denver Beer Week/GABF 2013.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, foamy, and lazily bubbly ecru head, which leaves some patchwork land bridge lace around the glass as it slowly recedes.

It smells of grapefruit and orange pith, further muddled tropical fruit, mild pine resin, bready, crackery pale and caramel malt, and some late-forming floral, grassy hops. The taste is more fairly astringent citrus rind, leafy pine needles, earthy hemp rope, toasted caramel and bready pale malts, and a mildly perfume-like floral essence.

The carbonation is a bit peppy, but in a reserved, easy-going manner, the body a decent medium weight, and a bit pithy and clammy in its heady attempt at smoothness. It finishes off-dry, the bready caramel malt well parrying the lingering bitter floral, citrus, and earthy hops.

An agreeable enough APA, the multitude of flavours all eventually leading to a combined, enhanced, and almost isolated bitterness. Good, but I feel that my palate would quickly tire after only one more.

12 oz can with hard to read enjoy by dating on the bottom

Pours hazed oily looking medium amber, Lifts a huge head initially, larger bubble, that recedes to a messy looking film and high thicker lacing.

Resiny hop nose.

More resin, some pine and whole wheat malts on the palate.

Nothing amazing going on here, just a respectable hopped up pale ale. Dry, hoppy and worth a try.

Always good to have more quality beer options in a can.

Poured from a 12oz can into a conic pint glass in high elevation Kalispell, Mont. Reviewed live.

A- One finger cream-colored head with low retention rate. Nice white lacing about an inch above the body. Golden body with great clarity. Nice looking beer.

S- Tropical fruits, floral hops. Aromatic before tailing off into mellowness. Average.

T- Slight funk. Floral, sweet and fruity hops.

M- Super light feel that finishes gushingly wet. Carbonation is minimal.

O- Middling beer at best. Interesting aroma, mild flavor.
