Two Buttes was served to me in a shaker pint glass. It arrived with a cloudy peach hue and a dense eggshell head. The head has good staying power and leaves a bit of lace.

The appropriate Belgian yeast funk is at work. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this is the same strain that Great Divide uses. A sourdough bread theme permeates the beer, but isn't too distracting. Bitterness isn't quite up to BIPA standards, but still adds a decisive citrus kick. The alcohol is well masked and adds just the slightest hint of warmth. The sourdough and citrus themes linger through the finish. The beer's body is fairly dense for this style and has soft carbonation.

I'm quite happy to see Boulder think outside their box on this one, as they rarely brew Belgian styles. This isn't among the best of the BIPAs, but it's a worthy member of the family.
