The store's selection is above average for a warehouse beer-wine-liquor joint, with most of the currently distributed beers making an appearance (DFH, R.J. Rockers, Lagunitas, Great Divide, Oskar Blues, Stone, etc) as well as all the expected local offerings, but, if anything particularly rare or limited rolls through Georgia, don't expect it to show up here. Pricing is fairly average. Personally, I would drive past Sherlock's and head to Bullock's further in Marietta, but, being a mere stone's throw from the Interstate 75, it's WAAAY more convenient for travelers.

After over six years of visiting Sherlock's, though less and less frequently as time goes on, I've always found the staff to be disinterested, entirely unknowledgeable, and, at times, downright surly.

This is the liquor store which is closest to my route going home from work.
Since I am from Germany, Bavaria specifically I enjoy my regular no frills wheat beers, like Franzikaner, Paulaner, Koenig Ludwig, Hacker etc.
The problem with Sherlocks is, that not only at one occasion I purchased expired beer.
Since this happed a few times I am checking the expiration dates prior of purchasing there.
So this time I went, they had a 12 pack of Hacker Pschorr Hefeweizen for $13, a good price, however that beer was just expired.
I grabbed some Paulaner and checked out, while there I asked the girl at the cash register if she is aware that the Hacker beer is expired and that I would be willing to buy it for a discount.
Her snarky response: "That beer is perfectly fine". I didn't respond, paid and left. Another time I was insulted by another unmotivated employee at the cash register, while checking out, as I revealed that I am from abroad. His words "You still got that accent, huh?".
If you are looking for expired, skunky or flat beer and store clerks, who didn't score a real job therefore are frustrated, who treat you like some unwelcome dirt, be my guest an shop there. Needles to say, I have had it and won't be coming back.

Sherlock's has a good selection of beers and competitive prices. Great beer guy, Tyler (aka Skinny Jesus). Good dude who knows a lot about beer and has never given me a bad recommendation.

Located conveniently to I-75 and I-575 on the north side of Atlanta. Good place to stop if you're passing through Atlanta and want to grab some stuff not available in your area. They have Terrapin, Sweetwater, Bell's, Founder's, Port/LA, Great Divide, Oskar Blues and plenty more.

They also have a good bourbon selection, as well, if you're into that.

Sherlock's is Kennesaw's best niche beer and wine spot. They have a good selection, a great beer guy (ask for Tyler), and almost always get some ot the rare stuff that comes to GA. The fact that Tyler is over there now has dramatically boosted the atmosphere and beer sales. Lately, they have had the hard to get Founders KBS, Port/Lost Abbey IPAs and sours, and basically anything else that comes to the state. I like the fact that they do not mind holding the rarer beers for regulars, and do a good job to keep people like me coming back. Their selection is not huge, and they aren't the cheapest, but the place is vastly improved in the customer service dept and in the specialty beers that are new to GA. Just ask if you don't see something, theres a good chance that there is some hiding in the back.

Stumbled upon this location by pure luck, ie, I was in the area for work. I was pleased though and went home with a six pack of Levitation and a couple of those neat Sam Adams pint glasses. The selection was decent - perhaps a step below a Total Wine but nowhere near the favorites inside the perimeter. In addition to lots of Stone, Sam Adams and local offerings, they also had the newly added Bells beers (bonus points for Oberon 5Ls), a decent collection of trappists and abbey beers, and all the big East Coast breweries like Allagash and DFH. Overall a nice shop for casual craft beer drinkers.

this place is a liquor and wine store that is trying pretty hard to carry a good selection. They have most of the Stone stuff that has been released, Pale Ale, IPA, Ruination, Arrogant bastard, Double Bastard. Ga hasnt had Stone but since September so we don't have all of the releases quite yet. DFH is present, Duck Rabbit seasonals, minus Balitc Porter, Great Divide, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn, Heavy Seas, Oskar Blues, Terrapin, Sweetwater among others are also present. They keep a decent selection of belgians, St Bernardus, Rochefort 10 and 8, among a few others. They have some Umbroque stuff as well. Samuel Smith shows up but it is in the cooler with a lot of other stuff. You have to go find someone to help you with any questions you might have, but they will be able to answer any of the questions that might come up.

Like I said before, they are trying hard to expand their selection of micros. They are pretty good at carrying everything that is expected, they just don't have any rarities. Yet....

Hit this place on the way up to Ellijay from Atlanta. It's a huge ware-housey kind of joint. Tons of wine, liquor, and BMC, and a medium collection of good beer. Some is in coolers, some just on shelves. Picked up some Terrapin Rauchbier and Breckenridge 471 IPA. Not everything is available in singles, so you may be stuck with a 6-pack.

Some of the stuff could be old, as I suspect they don't have a huge turnover rate, and the employees know nothing about beer. Still, decent selection.

Also, there is a QT next door for your non-alcoholic beverage needs.

Stopped off here on a recent trip to ATL and Kennesaw. Very large, high ceilings, almost like a bulk goods store. Not a problem, however. They did seem to have a pretty decent selection, including a few beers that i wouldn't call rare, but can never seem to find in the N.O. metro, though i wouldn't neccisarily call the selection "better" since there was plenty that i didn't see here as well. The girls who were working the register didn't seem all that knowlegable about beer, however there was a gentleman (patron) who i was able to have a nice conversation with about the different beers this place had on hand, as well as his opinions.

I'd recommend this place to someone else, because i honestly don't know if ATL beer stores get better than this or not; But you could do a lot worse.

Now this place was right down the street from where I was staying so I knew I was going to get to stop in, but what I was hoping for and what I got were a little different. The place was loaded down with everything in the world, just a cluttered mess to be honest. The selection was ok, nothing compared to Green’s but I could see they were at least trying. Good luck trying to get some help, other then when you are paying, no one seemed to want to try. I did manage to pick up some Festive in a flip top which I was looking for, but heck that’s everywhere around here I would come to find out. Overall not a terrible place, but there are better. You may find a couple goodies if you look around but nothing really jaw dropping here.

Stopped into this place on a whim. Looks very respectable on the outside. Inside, it looks almost like a warehouse, which doesn't bother me.

Quality is ok. Seems like a converted office warehouse.

Service is God-freakin' awful!!! Could hardly get anyone to help me. I had to track some guy down - I think it might've been the manager. When I finally got him to help me, I felt like I had just asked him to give up his 1st born from the reaction I got. Very unwilling and just sort of a pain in the ass.

Beer selection was average. For a store so big, I expected a much better selection but was disappointed to find the standard selection that I could have gotten at the local liquor store just down the street.

I will not be back to this location.
