Extra provided by Shango42..thank you sir. Had this a year or two ago and thought it was okay, but my palate for the browns has developed quite a bit in the meantime. Interested to see how this one stacks up.
Murkyish bilirubin color. Short head and a slow steady rush of bubbles to the surface. A nutty chocolate aroma, quite rich and wonderful. Some well integrated citrus hop aroma in the background.
The drink itself does not quite live up to the aroma, but it is delicious. Solid bitterness up front gives way to malty chocolate. Crisp at first, eventually building a coating of the malts in the back of the mouth.
Still, a very good beer, and one I'm glad I got to take another turn upon.

Pours a dark brown head with an inch or so of light brown head. A tad bit dark for Decent retention and a good amount of lacing. A little bit of mild sweetness in the aroma paired with dark chocolate and a little nuttiness. Good balance in the taste. Nothing over the top. A little bit of sweetness, followed by caramel. Lightly roasted coffee and slight hints of chocolate.A little bit thinner than I expected, with a touch of creaminess. Goes down really easy. I could knock back a few of these.
Overall, I consider this one to be a curious case. This is the second can of this that I've had. The first one was a bit fresher. I'm not liking it as much this time around. The aroma and taste seem a bit milder this time around.
