A-Deep russet, murky brown with a supremely sticky and rocky off-white head. Major lacing and cling.
S-Aroma is filled with hops but is heavily matched with a raw grain and nuttiness. I also detect a solid hint of cinnamon (although I am not insinuating that any was used). You almost forget about the hops as you try to dissect the malt layers.
T-Ok, not my ideal IPA, but lets throw styles out the window like they should be. Rich hearty malt body with major hop backbone. The spiciness of rye seems to be very present. Grainy, fresh and lightly-kilned. The scottish malt is a great touch although it seems a bit unfamiliar to me with the heavy hopping. Like the aroma, the hoppiness is often ignored - not due to presence, but because there are so many other flavors going on.
M-Rich and full, sweet and dry. Definitely a chewy texture and slightly rough finish. Not cloying, yet the hops are there to be noticeable.
D-I think I could grow to love this beer if I could get my hands on it easier. Not an IPA that I can compare to many others, yet I see that as a great thing. Plenty of brewers out there make great, typical, IPAs and it is nice to see a brewer that acknowledges that and tries to put their own spin on it.

A - Transparent reddish orange-copper, with a hint of gold, and a off-white head that pours short and fades quick, but laces expansively.
S - Pow! Punches the nose with a big hit of pine and grapefruit citrus hop elements, with slight sweet honey and floral notes.
T - Follows the nose, but with a strong malty component that mellows out the bitter thread in the close.
M - Hop resin coats, but decent carbonation scrubs some of it off. But there is a moderate build.
O - Solid hop bomb, with some nice malt to offer a counterpoint. We don't get balance - the bitterness is present and builds - but the fruit and pine work very well and the beer is delicious.
