16oz can i got in a trade with mnbears fan at dark lord day. thanks matt! drank from my samuel adams perfect pint glass. its been a long time since i reviewed this on tap.
A- the pour yields a dark orange colored body with reddish highlights and a slight haze. the head on top is moderate in size and has excellent retention. complete rings of lacing are left on the sides of my glass.
S- woah, this is hoppy. grapefruit and pine jump from my glass. some floral hops notes as well. there is a sweetness from caramel malts that shows itself towards the end.
T- the taste starts out with some caramel malts that add a touch of sweetness to this otherwise completely bitter beer. after that it moves into hop country. lots of grapefruit and pine notes with a touch of floral.
M- nice and bitter with a little bit of sweetness. medium bodied and well carbonated.
D- this beer is worthy of the hype it gets. a great example of an IPA in a super portable container that comes with a couple of extra ounces. check this one out if you get the chance. its one of the better IPAs out there. if it was an option, this would be in my regular rotation.

Poured from a can into a regular glass
A- how do all DIPAs look? Golden amber with a redish hue when held up to the light. Not much head and not much lace afterwhich. Looks good but nothing special.
S- the smell redines the smell of pine in DIPAs. It smells like there is actual pine straw in this glass, but in a good way. There is also a sugaryness from the malt.
T- very piney like the nose. Also has a good wheat taste followed by fruits and a strange taste that reminds me of something rubbery but not exactly rubber.
M- a little bite from the hops. Goes down pretty smooth but the malt keeps it from feeling like a true IPA.
O- very good but i prefer my IPAs to be a little more hoppy.
