16oz can served in a coast oversized tumbler. Can dated 2/19/11. Sampled 10/28 and reviewed from notes.
A- pours a very deep brown. Resilient, 2-finger thick head. Looks excellent
S- coffee (duh), with a hint of cream. Hidden hop bitterness. The coffee has definitely faded, but it's still fairly present, and not bitter/acrid/stale as one might expect. On the dry end compared to a fresh coffee. Very pleasant.
T- opens as a normal brown ale with simple malt sweetness / nuttiness. Full for the style, but still small. Maybe a hint of chocolate. Finish is all coffee. Very smooth...
M- good body, but not chewy. Smooth carbonation. Has a bit of a stout feel to it, but maybe it's the coffee reminding me of a coffee stout.
O- tasty, but not overbearing. Easy drinking and refreshing, which isn't typical of a coffee beer.
