Ran over to Cafe 28 to sample this delight since I couldn’t get any freaking bottles. Drank from a Darkness Snifter.
Appearance- Pours pretty damn dark with literally no touch of light escaping the edges. A big one finger light tan head bubbles away quickly leaving a thin ringed collar and no cap or lacing.
Smell- Lightly musty and mushroom like - think sort of wet basement. Maybe a touch of tartness in the nose that's red wine vinegar like but it’s very light and not noticeable once it warms slightly. Surprising no real roast is detectable in the nose. Very light vanilla note from the barrel but it’s not overpowering like some of these can get from the wood. Just all around funky and earthy.
Taste- Starts with a light acidic tartness upfront that is about the perfect level of sour I could ask for. I'm assuming this will pucker up more the longer it sits and will become very La Folie like. There isn't much in the level of roast in the brew but there is just the lightest touch of coffee. It’s very subtle but there. The wine barrel adds a bit of that light fruitiness that I'm picking up. It’s almost raspberry like as it mixes with the light oak woodiness. The teeniest of touches of vanilla in the finish as the sour really seems to cut out quickly.
Mouthfeel- The carbonation is very very light as is the body of the beer. Not watery but needs a touch mote heft.
Drinkability- Very enjoyable and insanely quaffable. So easy drinking and the level of sour really adds to the drinkability. It’s got that perfect Rodenbach sour level going. Enjoyed it very much!
EDIT: As Mr. Hilarious Wax Joke below notes, I'm surprised by some of the reviews as well. I didn't get a bad smell at all. Not sure if there is a difference in the bottles to draft but I thought this was a nice, easy drinking sour.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Almost black. Deep brown with a bit of red. Nice head as I pour it, but settles to nothing.
Smell - Cherries and lots of red wine. Some oaky mustiness. Dark malts. Some chocolate.
Taste - Much more red wine. Really dominates. Oak too. Cherry sourness. The dark malts aren't very prevalent here. Just an undertone of dark malt.
Mouthfeel - Medium body and pretty sour. Dry.
Overall - Without being a huge fan of dark sours, this is pretty good. Intense red wine. Mild dark malts. Works well.
