Thanks to Cyclone8 for knowing that 1 can of Surly beer is never enough for me!
A - Light straw. Crystal clear. Beautiful head that does not stick around for long, but its brief appearance is great: big bubbly and tight.
S - Great aroma. Right as I popped the can it hit me over the head. Intensely citric and floral hop aroma invades. Light grassy notes. I also get some "cookie spice" from the light touch of malts. The alcohol comes in strong along with an aspirin-y note. Overall the aroma is so powerful that it smells close to light hair permanent.
T - Big grapefruit taste, you almost get the whole fruit in order: zest, bitter pith, and then juicy and sour fruit. As the can says there is not much in the way of balance, but it is nice overall. Finishes with an herbal quality akin to mint
M - Nice and smooth, suggesting an easy drinkability. Lighter body for an IPA, but in the spectrum of beer it is about medium.
Solid IPA, great sensory experience until the beer is in your mouth and then the party's over
