Poured from the can into a Dogfish Head Ale glass. Canned April 30th 2013.
A fairly clear, bronze gold amber body, with slow rising carbonation. Head is off white and is about two fingers deep, but falls to a thin puck and soapy fat collar. Not too bad looking.
Nose is fairly subtle hop wise. Mild sense of sweet melon, perhaps a hint of tropical juicy quality. Mild sweetness, a little bit of piney spice and light brown sugar.
Good bitterness matching the hint of tropical quality. Toned down malt sweetness hinted with a little bit of toasty brown sugar. Slightly more than moderate carbonation but with a hint of wet body. Hints of earthy quality on the aftertaste and finish with a matching pine bitterness.
Overall not bad, and not overrated either.

Deep, golden body with a light haze and an incredible off-white head. Head retention is fantastic, as is lacing. Plenty of carbonation keeps fine sediment spinning violently around the glass.
Nice herbal and pine hop notes with a fantastic, sweet caramel malt to provide some balance. The addition of citrus notes make for a very welcoming aroma.
Bitter bite is right up front and is both brutal and smooth. Confused? Yeah, me too. In my opinion, this one sets the bar for what balance should be in an IPA! Plenty of pine hops character here meets a slightly sweet roasted caramel.
Super smooth medium bodied IPA. Plenty of carbonation. Semi-dry and clean finish.
Fantastic and very easy to approach IPA. Overrated, this is not - grab it.. even if you're not an IPA fan - this might convert you!
