Very excited to sample Surly's take on the style.
Kind of a honey gold body with little activity - a big soapy white head swells to fill the glass. Great, consistent sticky lacing.
The nose is tropical with juicy mango and pineapple, a bit of sweeter citrus, orange zest, honeycomb, nice. So far so good.
On the palate, I'd venture to say this one's more abrasive than Abrasive. Bitter hops take a subtle citric direction. Those juicy hops don't shine the same way they do on the nose. Bittersweet. I wish I could get more of that tropical fruit.
This is tasty, but I'd take Furious or Abrasive over this stuff.
