Picked up a single at Four Firkins. It certainly is a West Coast style IPA, big juicy hops over a lighter body. I'm not complaining, I like the style and this is a great example. I'd liken it most to Lagunitas Sucks. The aroma holds a great mix of pine with floral spice and sweet grapefruit. The flavor follows suit with a softer bitterness of piney apricot and less floral character. The finish is slightly dry and with the lighter body, a 4-pack would be dangerously drinkable.

Serving: On tap, 4oz sampler
Served: 6 August 2014
Appearance: Golden yellow with a marvelous head that just wouldn't die, even in the small sampler glass. Left lacing in the glass. This would make an excellent pint. Much lighter in color than a standard IPA- almost looks like a session IPA.
Smell: Huge notes of citrus and floral hops, some sticky sweetness.
Taste: An excellent taste on an "overrated west coast IPA"- massively unbalanced towards the floral and citrus hops. This is all hops, and barely any malt presence at all. The hops really shine though, and the malt backbone is there just enough to really carry the hops through an entire sip. Finishes semi-sweet.
Mouthfeel: High carbonation and medium-light body makes this one dangerously drinkable.
Overall: I love the tongue-in-cheek nature of this beer, and I frankly find that it does an excellent job of mimicking an "overrated west coast IPA". Would highly recommend.

A - Pale orange, clear brew, with a near white head that forms up fat and pillowy, but reduce quickly to a thin veneer over the top, with extensive lacing.
S - Citrus hop, with resin and pine, a bit of wild onion. All typical, delicious West Coast territory.
T - A bang of pith and juicy citrus flesh, mostly red grapefruit, with a hint of the grass and greener flavors, coupled with a mild malt sweetness that keeps the bitterness from going off the rails.
M - The real accomplishment here is to keep this from being a hyper chewy resin mess, but while the brisk carbonation keeps things from being too overwhelming, this does build up over time.
O - It is as the name suggests, a peon to the WC IPA. It is a delicious and ultimately satisfying rendition of the same. Solidly in my buy camp.
