My go-to liquor store for anything beer. They run out of new beers quickly, but that is probably due more to their popularity in craft beer circles more than a lack of stock. They have the best selection I've found in any store I've ever been to and know their stuff.

I read about Nikki's on a post on this site. I decided to try it out.

It is conveniently located off of 95. There is a parking lot to the left of the store.

The store stocks very high end whisky, wine and craft beer. I only shopped for the craft
beer- but the whiskey selection is excellent.

I was asked if I needed help- as usual I said "no thanks" and the staff let me browse
without any hassle.

The vibe is interesting. The people who shop there are beer geeks. A number of the customers were using their phones for reviews. Wireless is free- excellent, unlike most beer stores.

The selection is excellent- I was able to buy a Stone Old Guardian Extra Hoppy 2015 which just came out. A lot of the harder to find beers- for example, harder to find Clown Shoes beers. They don't seem to have a large macro selection- I don't usually look- which seemed relegated to a small area.

The bottle dates are excellent. I didn't find one bottle with an almost expired bottle date.
This shows that the staff is aware of the shelf inventory.

The store has a mix-a six policy so a customer can buy single small bottles.

I am not sure of the store's put-on-hold policy. The staff is very friendly and well- informed
about the availability of difficult to find beers. Their inventory is different than MA stores- an added plus for MA customers.

An added perc: the store gives customers bottle bags instead of boxes. I haven't seen this in any other store. Easy to carry beer out to the car, reusable for shopping and bringing beer to another location.

Overall: an excellent find. Easy to shop, well-stocked, good vibe, bottle dates, and personable informed staff.

I love this place! Best selection around. And you have to checkout their vintage room.

I am lucky enough to say that this is not only an amazing place with an outstanding selection and great staff, but since they moved to their new location (much larger and and swanky looking than the one pictured) they are also the closest place to my house! The only drawback is that since they've moved I've been spending a bit more on beer than I used to! (due to a lack of self control, no fault of theirs) They offer a discount on mixed six packs which is really nice when you want to try new things but don't want to commit to an expensive six pack of something you may not enjoy. They also have (I think) weekly in store tastings.

New location is awesome. Spirits selection is very solid. Helpful staff, routine specials, and lots of tasting events throughout the week. Mix-a-six program and vintage beer room are personal favorites.

Hands down the best selection in town, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and well educated on craft beer. The vintage room is just an added bonus. Get here if you're in town!

Nikki's has changed locations. Their new store is truly a mecca for beer lovers. The owners are knowledgeable and passionate about beer and their collection is unmatched. If you live in Providence, this is the place to go to find a terrific selection of beer.

Nikki's had some good things, but I suppose my expectations may have been too high.

Nikki's could make me move to providence so I would be closer. This is my favorite bottle shop and I'll be traveling across the south on 95 a lot more rather than out rt 9. The owners are knowledgable and super helpful without any attitude. They offered suggestions based on styles I was looking for and what I was buying. They even offered the 10% discount when I bought five bottles. They made sure I knew about an upcoming event based on the style of beers I purchased. The cellar room had several good bottles and the prices are reasonable markup.

The craft selection here is great. The owner's are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I went here for the first time for a Smuttynose tasting and walked out with a mix-a-six of some various crafts and an extra bottle of smuttynose imperial stout to age. This was my first time, but won't be my last visit.

This place is fantastic. The beer selection is the best I have encountered so far in Rhode Island and the staff here really knows their stuff. At first glance from outside it looks like a normal tiny liquor store. As soon as you enter you can tell this it is totally centered around beer. On my last visit I spent almost an hour speaking with the owner he is a really nice guy and knows beer very very well. The prices here are definitely reasonable plus you cant beat their mix a six or mix a case deal. This is my go to spot for craft now and I would recommend any RI craft lover that hasn't already to come and check them out.

If you like beer you will like Nikki's. I like funky beers and finding them around here can be tough.Service was top notch. Big thanks to mike for treating me like a friend. I also found prices to be very reasonable, when compared to Massachusetts. Returning is a nobrainer I can't wait.

Best store in Rhode Island period. They get stuff other places don't and more of what they do get. It's a small store but its got a lot to offer. Mix a six is offered with a 10% discount. Atmosphere is the only thing wrong. It's small and can get congested at times.

My first trip up to Nikki's, but will not be my last. Went in on a friday evening, quite a few customers floating around, but several employees around to help and answer questions. I was lucky enough to get the owner Mike to help me out and he me several different suggestions plus info on several different beers. He had a excellent selection out on the shelf with a good variety of different stuff. Mike did allude to a new shelf going out at some point with some vintage bottles ... Def looking forward to seeing that appear in the store.

The only thing I found a little off was the atmosphere, I don't know what struck me odd, but it def stuck on my head. Im my sure why it did, maybe it was supermarket lighting. But it def was not enough to ruin my trip there. I highly recommend a stop into the store if your in the Providence area.

I'm not a Rhode Island resident, but I visit family in the state often. Coming from Chicago, I have an appreciation for, and get excited about, finding rarities on the shelf. I visited Nikki's for the first time this past Christmas, because of the high rating. The praise this store receives is well deserved. I was very surprised to find brews on the shelf that had disappeared off of Chicago shelves within a day or two. The selection is spread thin due to the limited space, but excellent choices have been made. For these two reasons Nikki's deserves a 5 in the Selection category.

I had a brief chat with the owner, explaining I'm from out of state, but visited the store due to the high ratings it's earned. My apologies for not remembering his name, especially because of how helpful and accommodating he was. He made several recommendations and even told me about special tappings at nearby bars. Need I say more? Nikki's gets a 5 for Service.

I will be visiting this store each and every time I return to Rhode Island.

This is a place I go to regularly. I tend to get a mix-a-six of any beers I find to be interesting that I've never tried whenever I come here. There's usually a monthly beer tasting that I try to go to if something doesn't come up already.

Another good thing is they are partnered with Swipely, so anytime I make a purchase, the money value spent is converted into points on my Swipely account, which gives me money back.

The employees are friendly, always helpful, ask if I found everything I wanted. I typically spend between $18-$30 for my mix-a-six when I go.

Don't let the size of the place deceive you. They have an excellent variety of brews.Lots of local craft brews plus a variety beers from around the world. They are thin on macro-brews but is that really a bad thing? Love the Mix-a-six which is a great way for sampling different brews. It’s 10% off a mix-a-six and 20% of a case. Service has always been helpful and friendly. Only downside I see is they need more room, or maybe not?. Best thing is they are only a few minutes from my house. Nicest variety of brews I’ve seen around here.

Update 2/14/15: Was a fan of theirs before moving to new location. They have only gotten better. Beer selection is incredible. The owners are beer geeks also. One time I was there a Coors Light Rep was there and wanted to do a display for Blue Moon because they had craft beer promotion and the owner(I'm presuming he is) and cashier(owner's wife?) both quickly corrected him saying that Blue Moon wasn't a craft beer and I couldn't help chuckle at this exchange. I almost felt bad for the guy who was just trying to please his boss. It's this kind of thing that speaks volumes of how much they know and care about what they do.

This place is amazing. I spend most of my time in Connecticut and I am very used to paying Connecticut prices. When I am around this area I always stop in at Nikki's. They are very knowledgeable and helpful, offering to make special orders upon request for any available items. The store consists of a center table of favorite craft beers and gift packs and about 60+ feet of craft brews. They are sorted by location and brewery, but I always just go straight for the "New Arrivals" section. Overall, if you are in the area stop at Nikki's! And if you live here take advantage of their weekly tasting.

Was at Nikki's while on vacation because of the advice of some awesome Rhode Island BAs. It is located in a pretty boring strip mall, as I walked to the door I thought Oh boy! All was cool once I walked in. They have a really nice selection of East Coast goodies as well as a stand up import offering. It was very organized and had a cool clearance section full of stuff I can't get in Texas.
A BA, "bigs" works there and was really cool and helpful. He was always close to answer any questions but was not pushy or flaunting his knowledge of beer. I would highly reccomend Nikki's to any BA in or passing through the area.

Transcribed from notes dtd Sa, 15 Jan 2011.

Located in the back right corner of the North Providence Marketplace, the checkout counter was just inside the door on the left, followed by a short bank of coolers down the left wall and another cooler against the back wall. The impressive point was that half to two-thirds of their space was dedicated to beer! The depth and breadth of their selection was astounding, but I found myself wishing that there were more beers from the New England area, vice focusing on domestic craft beers and imports. I realize that mine may be a dissenting opinion, but when I travel, especially to shop for beer, I want local or regional beers that I do not have access to normally. It was a clean, well-lighted place for beer, but just not quite what I was after.

Based on it's pitcher, I expected a much bigger place. Nikki's is a strip mall liquor store, that sells more beer than liquor. The beer selection is about three aisles wide, and features a ton of locals and seasonals, a lot of imports, and some other craft staples. Found a lot of interesting bottles, including bal-aged BORIS, the Sam Adams Barrel Room series, some Mikkeller, and most importantly, FRESH SCULPIN! I left with a bottle of Sculpin, a SA American Kriek, and some other interesting things I don't really run into back home. Service was fine, as I only spoke to an employee when I was checking out. He was very helpful, and talked up a bottle of Utopias they had (for only $159). I was tempted, but I ended up passing. It's a nice place with average prices, but I was underwhelmed overall.

Great beer store in a crappy little strip mall!!!
Looks like your average locale packy (liquor store) where you might find some Sam Adams & maybe a Guinness BUT then damn you walk in and start to smile lots of premium beers from all over! Mix-a-six or grab a single!
Most of the best beers are warm on a shelf so you cant drink them right away but none are out of date or covered in dust just a great little store on the Providence/North Providence line super market & pizza joint in plaza so you can pick up some grub while your out! Nice store with a great staff!
BA rating tags on many beers!

This is my go to store to by quality beer.
They have hundreds of bottles to choose from. Great selection of American craft brews and also great selection of German, Belgian and other imports. On the outside it looks like a normal liquor store in a a little shopping center but once you go in and see the selection this place is like beer nirvana. I find the prices to be a little bit higher than some other places but I keep going back because of the selection and the friendly helpful staff. Also on some of the beers they have little beer advocate rating stickers.

I stumbled upon this place quite by accident. I was buying a pizza with a few non BA friends at the restaurant next door, and decided to stop in. It looks like any run of the mill liquor store from the outside. I figured they would be mostly macro with a few of the common craft offerings (Sam, Sierra, etc.). I was excited just to see a Dogfish Head sign in the window.

When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was a display table with Harpoon Triticus and some good imports on it. Then I saw all the shelves. Probably 4 large shelves completely filled with craft bottles. The craft selection pretty much dominated the store. The craft bottles run the gamut between the usual solid, common offerings and the special releases and rarities. The setup of this place is such that it lends itself perfectly to the mix-a-sixer. For a place this size, this is pretty much as good of a selection as you can get.

Quality is fine. The store is clean, well set up, and I didn't notice any dusty or expired beer. The service is pretty great. The staff is friendly and more than willing to help the novice drinker pick out some great starter beers, and can strike up a good conversation with the experienced beer drinker as well. The prices seem pretty reasonable, from what I can tell. I don't know what the beer prices tend to be in RI since I don't spend a lot of time there, but they seemed about right to me. I definitely didn't get ripped off.

This is a great little liquor store, and from what I've heard, pretty much your best bet in Providence. Highly recommended.
