0,5 liter bottle
Had this with a hot chicken curry. Great combo.

First smell from the bottle is citrus and pine. IPA.
Pale golden colour, nice creamy head after a good pour. Clear and good carbonation.
NIce strong hoppy smell, as said, and yet the taste is quite mild in it's bitterness.
Mouthfeel is soft for an IPA, to my experience. Very well balance between crispness and smoothness. Refreshing.
All in all this is a great beer, imo.
Glad to have tried this. It's expensive where i live, but it's worth the experience.

500ml bottle served in a Cervoise glass.

A - Pale yellow almost straw color with a big white cloud head!

S - Hoppy, Grassy, Citrusy, Pine, Pineapple, Grapefruit & Mango. Very clean and crisp smelling beer.

T - Pretty much the same as the nose clean grassy hops slightly piney, Citrusy, Tropical Fruits with a very light bitterness. It's a well balanced but subtle IPA.

M - Dry, Medium bodied, Moderate carbonation.

All around a nice fresh balanced IPA! Very well crafted beer & very drinkable!

This is a British rendition of the USA style IPA.

It looks pale like a lager. Head retention and lacing is excellent. The one I'm reviewing has the kind of three dimensional rocky head I normally only expect on a Duvel!

The aroma is the strongest point of this beer. It's all about juicy citrus and tropical fruits. It's one that you smell and go "ooh that's nice". Really lovely inviting hoppy aromatics.

The taste is similar to the aroma. Quite smooth and easy to drink as it enters your mouth but leaves a very pleasant but pretty bitter aftertaste. Lots of juicy flavours.

For those of us who can't easily obtain too many American IPAs with big hoppiness and citric flavours this is a beer that gives us a flavour of that style. It can often be found in one UK supermarket only a month or two old so it's nice and fresh and bright tasting.

Very similar to Punk IPA but I would say a notch better due to slightly stronger (but similar) flavours.

My mark out of one hundred would be 89.

If you find this beer fresh, drink it. Drink all of it. The floral hops in here are out of this world. A nice biscuity malt backs it all up. Very light, very delicate, and very good. If this came in reasonably-priced six-packs here in the US, I'd drink it all the time. Easily the best IPA out of England I've had so far, and actually rather unique.

500ml bottle served in a tulip glass.

A: Pours a pale and clear yellow color making a medium very bubbled, fluffy soapy white head. Medium to low retention and lots of spotty and soapy lacings left in the glass

S: Great in the nose. Wonderful hops. Piny, herby and citric. I would dare to say that the hops profile is quite American. Remind me Citra and Simcoe. Very malty too. Similar to Maris Otter but a bit more crispy

T: Very malty upfront with strong notes of pine and citrus hops. Moderate hops bitterness. An English IPA after all. Quite dry and crispy. Not totally made of Maris Otter but it dominates it

M: Light and watery body. Medium carbonation. Malty and piny aftertaste

O: Great drinkability. Excellent English IPA with an American influence

Pours hazy orange with a decent off-white foam head. Nice sticky lace down the pint.

Terrific nose on this one/ Floral, with honeysuckle and a touch of sour mash. Some good grapefruit rind, but not overly citric. Yeast and toasted malt in the background.

This is a very nicely balanced beer. Toasted malt, some yeast, bread/toast up front with an immediate pop of hops. Resinous hops. Bitterness comes in and builds as the malt dissipates, leading to a long balanced and smooth bitter finish consisting of hops and brown bread crust. How nice is this?

Medium bodied, good solid carbonation.

I'm slowly learning that good English IPA means balance. Damn right. This has it all. Been staring at this one literally for years and never pulled the trigger because it is always $10-$12 for a 1 pint 9 oz bottle. Sometimes you need to pay a little to get something good. This is worth the price. Loved it.

On tap in Roma IT.

Wonderful to the nose.

Ligh golden and tall head.

I'll call this a "delicate IPA". Smoother, less effervescence, less hop punch. Really beautiful flavors though. Grapefruit, apricot/orange, herbaceous/floral. Refreshing.

Had on-tap at Avenue Pub New Orleans. Served in a cask-style glass.

A- Pours a nice dark golden color with a 1/2 in h white head that retains quite well before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly fl sheet of surface foam. Pretty drippy lacing resiliently sticks to the glass.

S- Juicy hop aroma of tropical fruits such as pineapple, mango and grapefruit.

T- Mildly bitter hop attack with more fruit notes and a tangy aftertaste. Goes down easy while still packing a flavorful punch. There's not much of a malt backbone which is uncommon for the style.

M- Substantial hop bite with medium carbonation and a lightish body.

O- While English IPAs are usually more malt driven, this is closer to an American version since the hops are definitely more apparent.

Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with lots of fresh citrus flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with some great citrus forward aromas and tasty flavors that make it very easy to drink.

Appearance: great clarity, surprisingly pale gold color, much lighter than most English IPA, white, sticky, fluffy head

Aroma: Strong citrus aroma of grapefruit, orange, very little to no detectable malt aroma, clean yeast

Taste: fruity, citrusy, spritzy carbonation, much more American than English, very soft pale malt backbone that is only detectable really in the body; hops flavors ring through start to finish with a mildly bitter medium finish

Mouthfeel: Spritzy, carbonation lightens the body, you can only tell its medium bodied if you hold it in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing; very easy drinking, medium bitter, somewhat dry finish

Overall Impression: For a beer that is ranked this highly on Beeradvocate’s top beers in Britain, I honestly expected more. It is a little too light in body and malt character, and uses obviously American hops, to be considered an English IPA. When compared to the best Ameican IPAs, this would not have a prayer to make the top 50. That being said, it is quite refreshing, light on the palate, and thirst quenching.

Oranged yellow color, lightly veiled. White foam, decnt, not very beautiful.
Very pleasant smell, fresh, citrussy, grassy touches, maybe citron. A hint of hay.
Very good taste too, same notes, pleasnt citrus notes, chamomile, hay, fresh hop.
Good malty base, then a lot of hop, fresh and pleasant. Well balanced.
A good hop in the aftertaste, not too long, with earthly and citrussy notes.
Well done and pleasant beer, great drinkability.

From notes.

A - Cloudy light golden. Soapy one finger white head. Spotty lace with one finger of retention. Good stuff.

S - Super hoppy. Tropical, a little grape, grass.

T - Really juicy tropical hop flavour. Orange, giant tropical hop flavour.

M - Good carbonation, medium body, nice tropical bite.

O/D - A nice IPA. Lovely interpretation of the American style. Great hop profile, light, and really drinkable.

Pours totally yellow. Nice head and lacing.

Nose is all pine and grapefruit.

Taste is all pine and grapefruit.

Slightly "softer" IPA, lacks aggressive carbonation, but still has plenty of hops and seems perfectly fresh to my palate.

Nice IPA, doesn't have the body, resin or carb of many US takes but still perfectly enjoyable. Extremely drinkable.

Evokes a somewhat bigger Stone & Wood Pacific Ale.

(Served in a pint glass)
A- The clear deep yellow body supports a spongy snow white head and some nice strands of tiny bubbles glide to the surface.

S- The dry herbal floral hops have a nice musty lemon quality to them with some grainy pale malt notes that turn just a bit husky.

T- The dry finish of green hops is the first thing I notice. Then more woody and floral hop flavors come in and some dry woody pungent hops linger afterword with a skunky hint, not light-struck but more hops derived.

M- This beer has a medium light mouthfeel with a gentle fizz that complements the hops.

O- The nice dry British hops character is full with much softer pale malt flavors underneath. The dry hop character takes on an almost astringent quality but there is enough depth in the hops to counter that.

A: Pale straw colour and a bit hazy. Frothy 1 inch head on top.

S: Citrus, a bit of pine,

T: Grapefuit, citrus, low breadiness flavours.

M: Low-med body, med-high carbonation, low-med bitter finish. Dry finish.

O: A good IPA but lacks a bit of the malt flavours to balance.

Very pale yellow. Snow white head. Well-defined lacings to the finish.

Aroma is fresh hops, vibrant tropical fruit.

Hops right up front. Bitter juicy pineapple with just a hint of pine. Malt is hard to pick out. Clean grain, but the hops are certainly the star of the show.

This is a pretty simple beer. Juicy hops and that's about it. Fresh it's very tasty.

The colour is surprisingly pale, reminding of a pilsner (6 EBC) tan anything else. The white head is compact and white; some lacing occurs.

The smell is hoppy with medium bitterness (for an IPA) and quite a lot of thick sweet notes of pine needles, grapefruit and lemon curd. Minerals and dought in the background.

The taste is bitter and semi-sweet. Lots of citric fruits and -peels. Not much malts, and almost no caramel at all, it is just enough to create a balancing background to the hops. It it clean and focused. Light to medium body. Orange peels, some perfume and grapefruit juice in the aftertaste as well as some clean alcohol and hints of cereals plus a touch of butter. The finish is clean with citric bitterness.

The carbonation is strong; the many small bubbles fresh. The liquid is light and somewhat dry.

A very refreshing and innovative take on the American IPA style. Enjoyable.

A: Golden unfiltered with lots of white particles floating in it. 3 finger slight yellow head fades moderately fast. Little visible carbonation.

S: Malty, some sourdough, slight musty cellar like quality, grass.

T: Malt, some sourdough, dull bitterness lingers but is not overpowering. Definite English IPA. Bright, quite dry, balanced, relatively smooth.

M: Medium body, medium low carbonation.

O: Good but surprised at how highly others are rating it. It is well balanced. Very versatile, as its pretty middle of the road in taste.

Some bitterness in the aroma too. Nice aroma. Delicious in the mouth. Floral with some citrus notes. Nice bitterness in the finish. Nicely balanced. Very good. Dry.

Bottle (500ml from Waitrose, Glasgow):
Light amber with orange tinges and a very big, two fingers tall head that is part foamy, part bubbly looking and stays at about the same height for a few sips before reducing slightly in size.

Strong with pine hops coming through along with some citrus fruits, a lot spice spice and some floral hops along with plenty of tropical fruit notes. This one was a pleasant surprise on the nose with some pineapple, grapefruit and even some lychee making up the rest of the nose.

Hop filled on the taste buds with a good tropical fruit backing and plenty of pine and floral hop flavours coming through. There is a little bit of a bitter grapefruit taste but nothing too severe and there is a nice orange and citric fruit taste following on from it. As you would expect from something with so many hops coming through, it is also quite a bitter beer.

Moderate carbonation and a medium mouthfeel, this one is quite a hop filled beer and quite dry in the finish. Lots of citrus in the mix and quite fruity as well.

Nice, very much like an American style IPA which wasn't at all what I was expecting. This one is a beer I had heard a lot about prior to drinking it and my only regret is that I put off trying it for so long.

Appearance - Pours a bright and clear pale yellow/amber colour with a rocky head.

Aroma - Strong spice and pine hop aroma with hint of maltiness.

Flavour - Citrus flavours initially, especially grapefruit followed by a sweet lychee aftertaste. Well balanced beer.

Mouthfeel - Low carbonation in appearance but perfect level of carb in the mouth. Provides a good explosion of flavour on the tongue. Smooth, surprisingly easy drinking beer for the ABV.

A-Light haze with a billowy head. Jaipur is the color of marmalade. Head retains throughout. Cask beers always look the best.

S-Balanced and light. Would definitely want more intensity here. Bready and crockery with notes of citrus and flower petals. The floral-hop aspect of the aroma is the highlight. Nothing overly engaging or complex. But in the end, it smells good.

T-Again, it lacks gusto. Ranks at about a 6 on the intensity scale. Solid notes of clean citrus. Light hoppy zest. Sugary bakery pasty maltiness. Bitterness is reasonably light. Blatantly and English IPA. Far from aggressive and all about balance.

M-90% of the time I have a tasty IPA via cask, I am floored by the feel. Here, I was only moderately appreciative. You'd expect this English ale to really shine out of the cask, but I found it to be a bit too watery. Doesn't have that silky smooth feel. Not bad, but a far cry from some awesome IPAs I have enjoyed via the cask median.

O/D-Solid beer. Can't help but feeling a bit of disappointment. Supposed to be one of the most legit EIPAs out there, and I get it on cask. Yet it fell short. A treat to try and tastier than I am willing to admit. Just expected more and shame on me for that. Still one of the better EIPAs I have had.

Wonderful looking in the pour. Hazy, medium straw color with a solid finger of head.
Smell of cereal, grass and floral. Nice combination.
Pleasant taste, tame at first, then lemon bitterness and a little grapefruit. A lasting and nice bitterness.
Soft texture, low carbonation and medium body.
All around an excellent IPA.

Happy to try this at My Place in Newtown, CT, this English IPA shows a clear pale amber color with a fair white head and very little signs of lacing. The aroma brings solid pine citrus hop and biscuit malt hints. Not bad as English styled IPA's go. The flavor brings very much the same profile as the aroma, no surprises, decent enough and probably a bit more hop than many other British hop brews. I find it to be medium bodied with decent carbonation for a very solid, liquacious feel with a little tinglation. Very nice IPA, not highly memorable but plenty drinkable and worth a revisit anytime.

Pours clear golden body capped by short white head that quickly dissipates.

Aroma is citrusy (orange in particular) and grassy to earthy hops with evident sulphury notes and mildly sweet biscuity malt underneath.

Taste is very clean with fruity and grassy hop-flavor leading into dry finish with pronounced mineraly and sulphury notes. Restrained bitterness never gets harsh nor astringent.

Medium-light bodied with creamy fluffy texture.

In short, a well crafted IPA that remains smooth and non-harsh despite all the hops packed in (500 ml into tulip,BB 04-23-2013).
