Saint Petersburg is a fabulous warming, full bodied stout with subtle peat smokiness and chocolate malt flavours.

500mL bottle with a B United sticker over the alleged date code mentioned on the front label 7.7% ABV per label. The beer pours dense black with minimal light penetration and light tan head. The head recedes to a fluffy ring of big bubbles. The aroma is mild with smokey roasted malt and slight fruit or berry. The taste is mildly smokey with a pronounced leaf chewing tobacco & old leather note. Mild to moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with less than medium carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, ok RIS. Interesting take.

Rerate, 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.7%. Black colour, large tan head. Aroma and flavour as first sample, maybe somewhat sweeter flavour. Smoked malts are evident. Distinct hops in the finish.

Original rating: At Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011, served too warm. Black colour, moderate tan head. Roasty aroma and flavour, fairly dry, with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and smoke, hints of liquorice and wood. Pretty good.

Guinness on steroids
L4.75 Pitch black, rich foamy creamy golden head. As good as it gets out of a bottle.
S4 Deep rich scent
T4.25 Super smooth, well balanced, rich malts
F4.75 Great body and carbonation.
O4.5 Stout's are not my normal beer of choice so it says a lot about this that it is one of the nicest bottled beers I've had.

Poured from 500ml bottle into glass. No bottling date information found. Labeled as having 7.7%ABV.
Dark brown colored body, with some garnet and medium brown back lit highlights. Light tan head is several fingers deep upon first pour but settles back to frothy, bubbly thick cap. Leaves behind some irregular patterns of lacing.
Aroma is chocolate malt with a touch of yeast. Overall a rather flat smell.
Taste is dark roasted malts with peat, and bright, floral hops. The aftertaste has a dry aspect with the smoky peat flavor.
Medium mouth feel. Higher carbonation. Does not express much bitterness.
This could be a session stout with a savory meat and vegetable meal. Has a feel to drink this in a dark English pub with some history and story telling.

Nice but I wouldn't call it a ris. More of a cascadian dark ale as it has not such a big gravity, and it tastes very citrusy with the choice of hops they used.

Decanted into conical pint glass; yeast leavings evident at end. Pours black coffee colored, with a 1/2 inch tan head, minimal lacing. Bouquet of roasted malt, citrus, black coffee; palate dark roast malts with plum and fig notes. Nice "mouth feel" with effervescence lasting for the whole period of consumption. A very solid example of the style.

On tap at Casc Aberdeen.

A really dense flavourful stout. The mouthfeel on this is damn near perfect. Big, malty and chewy, this is an excellent beer. Hopefully the bottled version is as good. Cheers!
