On cask at Clachan, London.

Off white film that sheets over an oxblood body.
Nutty roast and fresh squeezed blood orange juice noise.
Lightly toasted brown bread spread with lemon tangerine marmalade. Cinnamon raisin bagel finish and dry linger.
Light to medium, chewy, some cling but crisp.

Whoa! DFH Indian Brown Ale’s little brother. Go, Thornbridge!

Handpump halfpint at the Southwark Tavern.

A: Clear, deep brown body; persistent off-white head. Great retention and lacing. Classically attractive brown ale.

S: Very clean nutty + chocolate malts, with a hint of herbal hops providing balance. Lovely, restrained aroma.

T: Leafy + herbal up front, with smoothly sweet hazelnuts, almonds, and chocolate. Crisp, yet still sweet, finish. Very tasty indeed.

M: Medium body, very lively for a cask ale. Nice.

O: This one is described as a "New World Brown Ale," but the emphasis was more on the complexly nutty malt than the herbal hops. Delicious beer, one of my favorite real ales so far.

Cheers!
