Bottle: Poured a deep copper/brown color lager with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with some notes of dry and piney hops is quite refreshing. Taste is a good balance between some pine and dry floral hops with some caramelized sugar and just the rate amount of sweetness. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Well brewed with nice hoppy level and solid malt backbone.

Pours dark copper, decent head and lacing.
Smells of green hops, toasted bread, nuts and fruit.
The Amarillo hops are so obvious. Lots of herbal notes from the start, with pine, green grass, green tobacco, also the expected fruitiness. There's peach, orange rind, crisp lemon and grapefruit later on. Faint tartness. Big floral notes also. Toasted malts with caramel notes, providing a nice backbone to all the hoppy goodness. Bitterness is nice and mildly dry, leaving a clean fresh aftertaste.
Carbonation is low to medium, lightly prickling. Silky, smooth, chewy. Just great.
Not entirely respecting the style (the hops tend to take center stage), but a very beautiful beer.

Appearance : amber color, with tan foamy head (good lacing)
Smell : malty and grassy aromas.
Taste & mouthfeel : malty flavours, with a nice bitter finish.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of March 2012. A Vienna lager with a late addition of Amarillo and Tettnanger hops. According to the label, killing your darlings is a writer's phrase that indicates the removal of characters from a manuscript. This beer was created for an art exhibition in collaboration with Kid Acne.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A deep reddish-amber hue with good carbonation. Produces a large creamy head of tan foam with good retention; it eventually subsides to a surface layer. The aroma is fantastic - a blend of aromatic citrus hops underpinned by sweet malt. Notes of grapefruit with a sharp fruity tang.

Tastes of sweet malt with a hefty dose of aromatic hops and a mild bitter finish. Notes of citrus - tart grapefruit and perhaps lemon - along with a hint of caramel and a whisper of pine in the background. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with a faintly acidic astringency and nice body. Aftertaste of sweet malt and aromatic hops.

Excellent - a top notch beer. Not a traditional Vienna lager, but a worthy take on the style. The aroma and flavour are great; a perfect blend of sweet malt and fruity hops. The body is also superb - neither too thick nor too thin. I believe this is a limited edition brew, so grab one while you can.

Dark copper color. It Made a nice thick head that dissipated quickly.
As usual for Thornbridge’s, it has a delicious aroma, this one floral and citric with hints of sweet toasted malts.
Malty flavor balanced with floral, piney and slightly citrusy hoppy sensation. Hints of caramel and toasted malts. Wonderful refreshing and tingling feeling at any serving temperature.
Dry aftertaste with a mild sweet bitterness.
Medium body with low carbonation.
Interesting that still preserving the characteristics of a Vienna Lager it has its own personality with a forward looking proposal. Those guys never let me down. It is a pity this is not very accessible to me.

500ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast..

Poured a clear deep amber red colour. Light mocha head poured fairly thick and foamy with a frothy topping then faded quite quickly to wispy covering with thick edging that climbs up the glass... no real carbonation... some decent lacing lines...

Aroma - Lots of nuttiness, good dose of grassy and piney hops, sweet caramel and biscuit malts, quite bready, lots of fruits (apples, some pears), citrus notes, quite floral...

Taste pretty much mirrors the aroma - lots of piney and floral hops backed by caramel malts and biscuity notes, light grapefruit... quite bready too..

M&D - Quite sharp and dry... light / medium bodied... A good sessionable brew at only 5%...

Overall - An excellent take on a Vienna lager very quaffable... this is something i wish i always had access to.. recommended

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass, purchased from Discount Supermarket in Cardiff less than an hour ago.

Pours with a pretty massive head and lots of lacing as you drink down. A deep/dark amber colour of the drink and the head is soapy white.

Smells nice, pretty malty and fairly alcoholic.

Tastes lovely, malty with a slight hoppy bitterness that seems to stay tingly your tongue for ages. A slight sweet almost caramel taste is there too. Making the beer seem almost thick in texture.

Overall a lovely tipple. I'd have it again.

Picked this up at my favorite beer store in Belgium, Dranken Geers. Beautiful mahogany pour with two finger off-white head with good retention and great lacing. Very toasty, malty, herbal nose with a surprisingly hoppy, nutty character. Hints of caramel and biscuit round it out. The taste follows suit with a nice fresh, herbal hoppiness, balanced nicely with a solid caramel malt backbone. Hints of toffee, biscuit and nuts with some subtle citrus notes as well. The mouthfeel is thick and slightly syrupy but extremely smooth with a slightly tangy and bitter hop bite on the finish. I'm a little surprised at how good this beer is since I'm not a real big fan of Vienna Lagers. Wasn't expecting it to be so bold and flavorful. But I really shouldn't be as Thornbridge has not disappointed with any of their beers. They're all top notch, solidifying them as one of my favorite breweries right now.

A - Darker amber than expected with a decent head that lasted.
S - Bready Yeast, Fruit, spicy, grass, bit of hop
T - Hoppier than the smell, a bit nutty, and crisp on the tongue
M - Very smooth and silky, really quite gorgious.
O - One that is better than the sum of its parts. Great example of the style!
