22oz. Bomber
11/20/2014

Pours a very nice dark golden amber color, very nice carbonation, very nice thick creamy one-finger plus off-white head, big huge island basically fills the whole glass, lots of thick sticky lacing. The nose is hoppy, with a nice dose of malts, some citrus, nice little pine note. The taste is hoppy, slightly malty, with some citrusy/piney notes. Medium body, very nice dry/bitter finish. Overall a pretty tasty brew, would buy again. (460 characters)

Pours one finger of head on a hazy copper colored body.
The aroma is dank grapefruit with a touch of bright lemon.
The taste is rich malt, caramel and some moderate lemon bitterness. Good balance.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
Nicely done. (257 characters)

Pours red with large head.
Malty aroma but with lots of resinous hops too. Some piny hops as well.
Malty flavours too, very rich but again with a lot of hops to balance things out. Very resinous and piny, some spicy notes too. (226 characters)

Clear dark amber with two fingers of off white head with excellent retention. good amount of lacing as head recedes.
Smell is fruity hops caramel malts somehow combine to give a fresh strawberry aroma. Some pine resin in there too.
Taste is initially lightly sweet but the hop resin aspect takes over quickly and holds until the long dry finish.
Carbonation is big enough to let you pour whatever size head you want.
Overall another big beer from Pelican Pub & Brewery. (470 characters)

22 oz bottle from "Roths Sunnyslope Market" in S.Salem OR. $5.99 Very attractive beer poured into my shaker pint glass, its deep amber/red hues with a large light tan/cream coloured head. The head is thick and bubbly. Quite a malt centric aroma to this one, creamy Orkney fudge and gentle citric/pine hops nice. Taste has that balance but certainly much more hop forward..hops are resinous and orange pip in flavour.still a deep chewy malt prevails..nice balanced. Mouth feel is very nice tan thick, well carbonated..just right. Very drinkable balanced "Red" IPA..could be a hoppy amber..but i liked it. (602 characters)

22oz : tulip

Pours a clear, dark amber red with a thick, foamy off white head, great retention and nice lacing.

Big citrusy, fruity hops with a lightly sweet, caramel malt backbone in the nose, and more of the same in the taste.

Medium body, standard carbonation.

A very well done IPA that reignites my interest in this brewery. (332 characters)

Color is a clear copper with the most beautiful big long-lasting head in the shaker. Malty and even on the rich side. Bready and aromatic with hops. Earthy and acidic. Resiny aroma.

Some grapefruit peel bitterness. This would be one of the better Red Ales I've had, but the brewer calls it an IPA, I guess since it's so hoppy. But it's not as bitter as a lot of Red/Amber brews. Poured from the 22 oz bottle from the supermarket in Portland. (442 characters)
