I bought a bottle of Pelican Silverspot IPA in a bottle shop. Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours a shiny gold color, crystal clear, with a frothy white head. It has an effervescent appearance with many bubbles rising in the glass.

Smell is a sweet grain aroma, with a hint of mild fruit scents.

Taste is a sweet bread and citrus flavor, with a wet bitter-sweet finish.

Mouthfeel is zesty, crisp and clean.

Overall a very good IPA. The mouthfeel is exceptionally light and clean.

Pours a nice golden color with a fast receding white head.

Smells like dank hops and fresh biscuits. A little more pine like than fruity. Smells kinda like some good weed.

Taste is quite smooth and delicious. Bitterness is minimum, and there is a bread like quality that gives this IPA a nice malty richness.

Feel is about average. Nothing to rave about

Overall this is much more of an introductory IPA than say Torpedo. Nice balance of flavor.

A - Pours a light tangerine hue with a 2 finger head that dissipates quickly.

S - light citrus notes, hints of wheat

T - starts off with a strong wheat note and moves into citrus, tangerine, grapefruit and a light bitterness.

M - medium bodied with ample carbonation.

D - extremely drinkable. Light yet complex with a nice bitter finish.

A English style balanced IPA. Easy on the pallet and good with food.

Mellow aroma, earthy hops with faint orange/fruit and floral notes. Pale, translucent straw color beer with good head retention. Biscuit malt flavor with piney, earthy, bitter hops and very mild fruitiness. Finishes dry with a mellow, bitter aftertaste. Very well-balanced, a friendly alternative to all the American style IPAs around here.

Beautiful amber color with a coppery tinge in the Affligem chalice. The foam is so lacy, and froths up modestly, but provides the nicest sudsy mouthfeel. Aroma is lemony with some orange and a grainy muffin nose.

The flavor is malt with a good caramel taste and edged with the hoppy aromatics. Some bitterness that allows for a friendly bite and a warm taste of yellow cake and filberts. The bready malt is nicely balanced by the citrusy hops. Some lemon and English muffin with a hint of passion fruit.

This is a really drinkable and user-friendly IPA. It's mildly hopped compared to the typical American IPAs, but full of flavor. I think we need more of these English-style hoppy brews and I'm grateful to Pelican for this well-made version. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Central Market - Shoreline in north Seattle.

Bottled 6/11/13. Bomber served chilled into a pint glass.

Silverspot is a pale amber color with good clarity. The head is thick and white and leaves a little lace as it settles.

Aroma is hoppy with a mix of citrusy west coast hop varieties.

Flavor is balanced and enjoyable with a tropical fruit sweetness up front, moderately bitter with orange citrus. Calling it an English IPA doesn't seem appropriate but it's tasty.

Mouthfeel is medium light in body, nicely carbonated and balanced.

Overall a tasty IPA.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: nice golden-orange hue with a haze-free body and a moderate effervescence. Head is a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Quite attractive.

Smell: very hoppy aroma is a nice combination of citrus and dankness. Hops make up the bulk of the nose, but a light maltiness and a hint of yeast character round it out a bit. I like it.

Taste: sweet, malty flavor; sweeter than the aroma would suggest. Nice, citrusy hop flavor with a bit of an earthy undertone. Hops are not as pronounced as in the aroma, but the total effect is quite balanced. Bitterness is low to moderate. Quite a tasty example of the style.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a nice, creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Overall: I'd definitely drink this beer again. It's got a good, hoppy flavor, and is yet quite quaffable. Kudos!

A: Poured a medium orange color with good carbonation leaving a moderate white cap, bubbles, good dose of lacing and good head retention

S: A nice breadiness with light citrus and whiffs of pine from time to time

T: An immediate breadyiness strikes a balance with the citrus and lighter pine hop bill. The finish is a little sweet, rather clean and not really bitter.

M: Light to medium bodied, well carbonated, good feel, hops and malt both hang around on the palate for a while

O: Good! Probably one of the better English IPAs I have had in a long time.
