22oz bottle poured into a tulip.

A: Golden straw color with orange highlights when held to the light. Two finger white head with very good retention and lacing.

S: The main aroma I get is canned tuna fish mixed with mayo. It's not super strong, but it does mask the other aromas. Slightly sweet malts and a healthy breadiness. Some grassiness and a very light corn scent.

T: Very grassy all the way through. Very grainy. Again the slight corn comes out. Some breadiness. Pretty plain.

M: Very thin and watery. Decent carbonation. Maybe a bit creamy. Slightly dry finish.

O: I can't get over the smell. It's not bad, just not what you want to smell. It is drinkable, but there's no way that I'd buy it again. Just nothing going on at all. A disappointment.

bomber from my main duck in BIFIII.

Crystal clear light copper. I mean seriously clear. Unbelievably clear. Little head. Plenty of lacing. Some carbonation.

Smells light. No real smell at all. No alohol, hops, barley, yeast, fruit etc. Light vanilla almost.

Initial carbonation, but settles very quickly into a smooth and creamy beer. While not thick, seems thick with the way it finishes. Funishes a yummy beer. Almost like a Pilsner, but not. Some alcohol, but masked very well. I cant place the body (dare I say corn), but subtle and long lasting.

Cream Ale's arent for everyone. They are not very complex, but should be appreciated as soothing and relaxing. Definately a drinking beer, and one that should be appreciated more.

Pale gold with small white head, leaves a good amount of lace. Fruity yeast aroma, hints of apple and orange. Malts are mild and light, with a touch of sweetness. Hops are sparkly and lightly citric, a bit hoppier than some cream ales but that's because most are bland mass-produced pasteurized lager wannabes. Still, the hops are hardly noteworthy. Fruity ale yeast dominates the flavor with traces of butterscotch that linger. Some lactic sourness in the aftertaste. This is a solid cream ale, or, light golden ale, as I think of it, since it's not really creamy. But the style does almost nothing to excite me. The buttery flavors dominate whatever malt sweetness and hop bite there could be. I guess Pelican wanted to make a light, lager-esque beer for those who don't like big beers. A cream ale is a valid compromise if you don't have storage facilities or bottom-fermenting yeast. Still, I'd rather reach for a proper, crisper, cleaner-tasting lager any day of the week.

Thanks to Kels for sharing this bottle.

22oz. Brown bottle poured into a mug.

A: Pours a grainy straw yellow with good clarity. Medium head on the pour with some retention and good lacing.

S: Light cereal grain malt bill, somewhat earthy and husky. Very light grassy hops in the back.

T/M: Cereal grainy with a touch of sweetness and some more of the earthy husk. Hops come out a bit more with a snap of bitterness and some earthy, very grassy, and just a bit of floral quality. Body is medium light or so with nearly lager like crisp carbonation and a clean finish.

D: Low ABV and very easy to drink. I think it'd get boring after awhile but it's very well done.

Kiwanda looks like gold, pure and clear and bright. A very slightly off-white head is creamy and compact, maybe reaching one finger in height but never fading away. It sticks around as more than a foam, about 1/2 a finger, the entire time, constantly regenerated by the steady bubbling activity. Lacing is left in patches and in good quantity.
A grains note in the nose starts it off, backed by a gentle sweetness. The undertone is a mix of herbal and lightly dusty earthiness. Cream ale isn't a big style, but it's a little tough to get everything out of the aroma.
There's a good balance of herbal and lightly grassy hops bitterness before the sweetness, and it does a good job of taming it. This beer is an interestingly herbal and "green" cream ale. There's also a bit of earthiness on the dustier side. Into the finish, it ends up a little metallic with a sort of thinness.
The feel is great, and it shows what the style should be in that regard. It's very soft without being weak, light and downright creamy, even fluffy, but with a light crispness all the way though. If the crispness gave a little more nip all the way, this is perfect. As it is, it's what you want a beer like this one to feel like.

Pours a vibrant golden hue with light, persistent carbonation and a very light, stark white head. Sweet nose of light fruit, honey, and the faintest whiff of hops. Fairly substantial body (cream is an apt description) holds a palate of lightly sweet malt and a touch of bitter hops, with background notes of citrus and light honey. Could drink this one all day.

Pours a finger of head on a cloudy light straw colored body.
The aroma is a dry grain smell.
The taste is a light lemon bitterness with a creamy background.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
It's light on the "cream" but still enjoyable.

S: Slightly herbal, oregana like hops, touch of spice, somewhat spicy.

L: Crystal clear, straw yellow, creamy white head, 1/8 inch retention, good lacing.

T: Slightly spicy, floral hops with a firm light malt backbone. Medium low spicy/fruity bitterness leading to a fairly clean malt. Fairly dry, clean finish.

M: Slightly creamy mouthfeel, clean, medium carbonation.

Delicious, could drink this all day.

A: clear yellow, visible carbonation, a few millimetres of head
S: pale malts, corn
T: fairly generic. "It tastes like beer."
F: smooth
O: nothing to get excited about, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way for it
