I've been here twice now, and think it's time for a review.
The atmosphere is hard to beat. This is a good sized, attractively designed and laid out pub, although not significantly different inside than a lot of places. What sets it apart is the INCREDIBLE location and view. The back doors literally open up onto a beautiful oregon coast beach. In the summer you can watch surfers, beach babes, and dory boats coming in with the day's fresh catch of seafood. In the winter, there's no better place to watch a storm.
As the countless medals hanging on the walls suggest, the quality here is top notch. There's a good variety of expertly crafted beers on tap, including a standard line-up of beers and several seasonal releases, including such infamous beers as the Mother of all Storms. I've had both breakfast and lunch here now, and the food is on par with the beer - very tasty, and a notch above what you find in your average brew-pub for sure.
On my two visits, service has been mixed. The first time, on a busy sunny warm early spring day that brought a lot of people out to the beach, the staff was a bit overwhelmed, and the service was a little slow, but they were doing the best they could, and were very friendly and apologetic about their ability to serve the unexpected off-season crowd. The second time things were great. Our server was very attentive, and the bar manager made many stops at our table as well to make sure we were having a great time and enjoying our experience in Pacific City. I'd give this place a solid 5 on service if it weren't for the first experience.
Selection is good. There's a good variety of styles on their standard line-up, including one or two styles that you don't generally see most breweries making. On top of that, the seasonals are quite varied and interesting, even if they're not really pushing any limits and getting too experimental.
Like I mentioned before, the food has always been a step above what I usually expect to find in a brew pub.
As for value, I think the food prices are a bit high, but they're the only show in town, the quality is good, and I don't mind spending an extra dollar or two per item to enjoy it with that kind of view.
I think my biggest complaint about this place is that it's not closer to me here in Portland. Still, it's a beautiful drive through state forest from the city, and I'd suggest it not only to northwesterners, but also anyone that will be in the region with a half a day to burn on something special.

This was stop #12 for my wife and I on a 21-day pub-crawl from Michigan to N. CA and OR. We stopped here to try their beers, but ended up having a snack as a go-along. The pub is located on the Pacific shore of this rustic community, and has an ocean view that has to be the best of any brewpub anywhere with that giant rock sitting out there in the water, even when it’s gloomy and rainy like it was that day. (I don’t know why a giant rock is so mesmerizing.) The exterior of the building is seaside rustic, and the interior has a balanced feel of a restaurant that also has a nice pub feel to it. A long wooden bar and back-bar just fit nicely here.
We came here for dinner and to try the beers. We ordered the brewery’s standard sampler flight with 7 beers, plus three others that we also wanted to sample. Every one of these beers was brewed to a level above the norm for the style, and our grading system put this brewery into the top 5 of the 40 breweries that we visited during our three-week pub-crawl. We felt that all of the beers graded to at least a B level, and the Cherry Poppin’ Dory was the standout at an A- rating.
Our food was equally as impressive as the beers, plus we added a Beer-A-Misu dessert onto our feast. (Yum!) We also discovered that the pub was open for breakfast, so since were staying across the street we returned the next morning. The breakfast was also very good, plus we got to enjoy the scenic view again, but with sunshine this time. This pub is a must-visit for anyone who is touring the beer scene in Portland and has the time to detour to Pacific City.

Took some time off last summer and drove with the wife from LA to Canada so I hit numerous breweries in Northern California all the big boys and they were all great.
This place was memorable because it came as a complete surprise I found it by pure luck looking for a restroom off a rural section of PCH. It was literally like an oasis.
First off we parked the jeep on the sand walked over and sat in the patio right by the water had some great food and several beers. The service was great nice mixed crowd of friendly local and tourists. Even picked up some cool sweatshirts. We will definitely be going back.
