Opaic mahogany, with clear garnet and cola edges, no light makes it through, a light lacing on top. No real aroma to it, some slight coffe, just a hint in fact, and some barely perceptible honey. Taste, well it is far better than I had found of anything this far in LR. Flavors of coffee, rich chocolate covered raisins, cola, whole leaf tobacco, an oaty earthiness. Mouthfeel is medium, the residual sugars carry the flavors forward and give them a rich voice, carbonation is low but prickly, ethereally prescient of the needs of your tongue for carbonation if you will. The rich flavors sit on the back of your tongue, giving a long life to this beer. As it warms the carbonation falls off and reveals a new cola flavor dimension, and the body gets heavier. All around a pleasure to drink, and the saving grace for this PNW transplant's good beer needs. (855 characters)
