My recent visit here was for their annual "Smoke Off", an event that raises money for worthy causes and featured 30 cooks smoking up various foods. In addition to the expected brisket, chicken, pork and turkey one of the featured BBQ'ed creatures was Iguana.
On to the bar. A typical neighborhood dive (and I mean that in a complimentary way) PPC features 20+ taps of mostly craft beer, the only non craft was Miller, and on my visit had offering from Breakaway, Elysian, Victory, Dick's, Full Sail and Schooner Exact among others. This type of selection may be great in other places but is merely average in the PNW.
The service was very good, if you're not a needy customer. The bartenders are friendly, in a gruff fashion, and the world will work better if you are ready to order when they get to you. They do not seem to be the handholding types. As mentioned, I was there for a BBQ cook-off and the regular menu was not available, but talking to locals and regulars, the opinion was that the food was better than average bar food.
This bar is in an area off the beaten track for most visitors, but if you happen to be in, or near, the U-District (UW), this is less than 10 minutes off I-5 and worth a visit.

The Pub at Piper's Creek is an unassuming little place on Greenwood Avenue in north Seattle. For what it lacks in exterior appearance is more than made up for in beer selection. 21 taps line the bar, with all but one handle dedicated to craft beers. On my recent visit they had offerings from Dogfish Head, Walking Man, Baron, Laughing Dog (this north Idaho brewery is only a couple of months old!), as well as some old standbys (Bridgeport, Georgetown, etc.). The bar is tended by some interesting characters - but they know their beer.
Interior decor includes the typical brewery swag on the walls, a few video games, and a pair of pool tables.
Look past the bland exterior and drop in - you'll be rewarded with one of the most unique beer lists in Seattle!
