From 01/07/12 notes. Thanks to whoever brought this one to the last RB tasting.

a - Pours a murky bright light yellow color with one inch of white head and low carbonation evident.

s - Smells of brett, citrus, spices, oranges, wheat, and light funk. Very nice nose, like it a lot.

t - Tastes of funk/brett, lightly sour fruits, wheat, bready malts, light citrus, earthy notes. Very nice again.

m - Light body and moderate carbonation, though the body is a bit watery.

o - Overall the body is a bit thin and watery, and it doesn't look great, but the nose and taste are very good. Would certainly have it again.

Sppearance - pours a lemony yellow with a beautiful 2 finger head and leaves a nice lacing around the glass. I take a step back and it reminds me of egg yoke and whites. Looks tart.

Smell - citrus with distinct lemon scent permeating from the glass. Very refreshing.

Mouthfeel - Crisp, acidic, and light.

Taste - Just like it looks and smells. A whole lot of lemon citrus and tart. Very much like a Berliner Weissbier. Very refreshing and thirst quenching. The lemon peel bitterness comes through in the end with a little yeast. Not a strong aftertaste.

Overall - An outstanding summer beer to beat the heat. Citrus refreshment and not much else more. More Tart than sour and not as complex but enjoyable non the less.

A: Golden straw, hazy white grape juice.

S: Grassy lemonade.

T: A pleasant, subtly tart, crisp, American hefeweizen with a slight lemonade finish. There's a good balance between the tart funk, the slightly sweet wheat, the yeast, and the hints of lemon.

M: Crisp and thin (though not watery).

O: A very well balanced brew; definitely one worth revisiting.

Poured from a 1 pint, 9.4 oz. bottle into a pilsner glass. Color was light golden, but not quite pale. Looked a bit like lemonade or pineapple, or maybe a mix. About ½ inches of head. Minimal lacing on the top that dissipated very quickly. No film on the sides.

Smelled a lot of different flavors, including pears, apples, cloves and a touch of puke. If not puke, then sour beer.

Tasted very sour and tarty from the get-go and right away I noticed a lot of carbonation. I also got the pears, which I smelled so heavily before. The cloves try to make a late run of it, but it wasn’t too strong. Overall pretty tarty.

Medium body. Oily texture. Fizzy (high) carbonation. Astringent finish.

This was my first ever sour beer. At least that was what I’d call it. It has its moments, but I’m sure others must be better. Maybe I’ll go back to this after I try a few others.

Received this 750ML C&C'ed bottle in the MLB Playoffs 2011 BIF from landrewg. Thanks a ton, Andy! Poured into a regular pint glass.

A clear, yellow/straw color, typical of Berliners. White 1 finger head that dissipates to nothing rather quickly and leaves behind very little, to no lacing.

A nice lemony aroma with slight tartness. Some slight hefe-like wheat aromas are also present. Rather awesome nose, actually.

Flavors are similar to the aromas, with the tartness hitting the tongue almost immediately. Definate lemon zest flavors, with just a hint of bready wheat.

Somewhat light body with just the right amount of medium carbonation. Very drinkable, very refreshing... wish I had this back in the hot summer.

Ahhhh... I love this style, and I really like this beer. "Bottled on" date says "78", and have no idea how fresh/old this beer is, but I drank it over 2 months after I received it and it's still tastes fresh. Would love to try a bottle(or two) of this fresh next summer.

Bottle. Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a tannish white fluffy head. Slight sourness in the nose with some fruit like pear. Light mouthfeel. Light sourness balanced out with a little sweetness. Pretty subtle. Easy drinking. Not overly complex by any means. For 5.7%, the alcohol is absolutley unnoticeable.

From my beer journal. Reviewed on October 9, 2011.

A: Slightly Cloudy, straw yellow beer. Nice looking carbonation. Big foamy white head. Looks great and sticks around.

S: Nice tartness and lemon. Hint of wheat.

T: Tart up front. Hint of brett, but only just a little bit. Big lemon flavor and finishes tart. Nice dry finish.

M: Light body with nice carbonation.

O: Refreshing, but not a lot to it. Tasty beer. Perfect for a summer bbq.

Pours a hazy, bright straw color with a large white head that takes some time to go down. Scent is nice lemon zest with some tart aromas. A bit of wheat in the nose as well...as well as cider-like scents. Taste is initially pleasantly tart with flavors of lemon and spices. Lots of lemon with just a bit of bread and wheat. Mouthfeel is light bodied and highly carbonated. Drinkability is very high. Overall, this was an awesome beer that I was not expecting to be as great as it was. To me, this is more like a berliner weissbier than a wild ale. Highly drinkable.
