500ml bottle, served chilled in a Young's nonic pint glass. Bottle conditioned. After popping the cap I noticed a fair bit of rust formed around the top of the bottle, I carefully cleaned it off then poured it as carefully as possible
Pours with a rich deep dirty copper body, hints of brown also. Slightly hazy from the conditioning, off white head forms about a centimetre thick, good solid retention
Smell, musky rich spicy malt. Rich sticky fruit, prunes and figs, some warming alcoholic vapour also. Spicy fragrant malt, a touch of mixed spice
Taste, crisp rich malt character, slightly musty, tasty english bittering hops. Some coarse rich malt on the finish with a hint of almost metallic like hop bitterness
Another solid effort from this little Welsh brewery. Tasty and full of flavour. I could have done without the rust though, the bottle was fresh so I don't know if it was stored poorly or they have quality control issues
