19th Hole offers the best beer selection in the Killeen/Copperas Cove/Harker Heights Texas area, with particular strength in German beers and American craft beers. While the selection is not as wide as Central Market, or Grapevine market, it is quite good for the area. The stock turns over rather quickly, so freshness is not an issue. Most of the beer is not refrigerated, and remains in the shipping cartons until purchased, except for a small display selection. There is also a good selection of beer glassware at reasonable prices. The manager is quite willing to order anything that is available from his distributor, and has stocked several beers that were difficult to obtain in larger markets, such as Austin, TX. Prices are slightly low to typical for the area. A decent selection of wine and spirits is also offered.

Not much to look at from the outside, heck, it doesn't sparkle on the inside either, but the selection, especially in this area, is impressive.
I stopped by and picked up some 07 North Coast Old Stock (not on the shelves in Austin yet), Unibroue 16, Yeti, Thelonious Monk, and a Traquair House Ale. I passed over some other tempting choices as well. While I noted a few dusty bottles, and the storage is a bit in the open, nothing was obviously at risk.
I've talked to the beer guy there, and he's friendly and knows his stuff. The other staff were also very pleasant but I only needed them to ring me up.
All in all, this place can seriously cut down your trips to Austin. If you're in the Fort Hood area, the 19th Hole is a must visit.
Thumbs Up!
