Man this place is small. But, considering the size they do have a good selection. The best thing about it is for 8.45 you can mix your own sixer from any 12oz you want. Actually I probably could have thrown a couple of bombers in there and the lady at the counter could have cared less. She did ask to help, but other than that I think she didn't even notice I was there. The prices are right on par with other places in Boone except Peabody's. It's cheaper than Peabody's on some beers. I would recommend this place if you want to mix your own sixer.

This place was a trip. It was about the size of a closet and pretty much had as much packed into it as you could get. My only chance to mix a six when I was up there so you know I jumped on that one. There was a pretty good selection of everything you would find in any store up here, most of your regionals and a few extras. Not so much on the bombers here and the prices seemed a bit cheaper then Peabodys and right in line with the rest of town. Overall this was not a bad spot, if you are looking to save a buck it might come in handy. I could see myself shopping here again, especially for the mixed packs. More then a decent store and not really anything negative to say about it comes to mind.

Hey...I remember seeing this place listed in BeerFly! So, I went in. Ehh. It was Monday, so maybe they got wiped out over the weekend. They did have some Sweetwater, Terrapin, Duck Rabbit, a couple other micros and a few Belgians, but it was pretty empty. Everything seemed clean and fresh. The guy working was more interested in what was on his laptop than who was in his store. Didn't acknowledge me until I was leaving. The selection up the street at the Earth Fare supermarket was much better. The ability to buy singles is nice, though. I may stop in here again some other time just to make sure I don't need to hit it when in town.

Went to this place many times when around ASU. Cheaper than Peabody's but real small. You can mix your own six pack here and there's also a card that when you get ten holes punched from mixing sixes you get a free one or a free shirt with the store logo. I'm not sure if they still do that or not. You may not find everything you want here but if you want to try a few new beers that's a possibility here. My friend used to work there are knew a good amount about his beer but many employees don't seem too knowledgable or helpful in the long run. You should know what you're looking for when coming here.

This place is a cinch to find between Town Hall and the Cinema on King Street. I knew I would like it when I approached from about two blocks away and the first pedestrian I met was carrying a micro brewed 6 pack and then the next one had a microbrewed 4 pack and I was still a block away from the joint.
The selection is compact and appears as if it would turn pretty quickly. The availabilty of individual bottles is certainly a plus and the selection, while small, was pretty darn good. The price list was on the blackboard as you walk in and my only complaint was that the first time I dropped by they were not yet open since the clerk was in need of a break. I asked a few questions when they reopened and the clerk was helpful and knowledgeable.
I'd go back, me likey!

This is a very small store. I drove right by it while looking for it. It is right next to a movie theater. The selection was not as big as some of the other places I visited tonight but for a store of this size I think it was a decent effort. I picked up some Wolavers and Duck Rabbit beers. The big thing here is they let you buy singles. I bought a mixed sixer. I would drop back in this place again but it would not be a destination. There were very few BMC beers here. There was also a small selection of wines.

This is a cool little beer store in downtown Boone that packs a lot of different beers into a small place. They carry a wide selection of Belgians including Chimay, Orval, Westmalle and Rochefort and also plenty of U.S. micros like Lost Coast, Victory, Anderson Valley, Mendocino, SN and many more. Prices were quite reasonable too, generally .50 cents to a dollar cheaper than Peabodys for most beers.
The only thing lacking is service. The girl at the counter acted like she didn't give a shit about anything except the book that she was reading. I could have stuffed beer into my coat and she never would have noticed. One positive thing is that Tin Can had some bottles of Avery The Beast, which is a beer that I'd been wanting to try. I'd heard that no other store in Boone carried The Beast this year because of the high cost.

This was my first time in NC since they lifted the 6%abv law. I live in SC so a couldn't get any high gravity beers in the state. Tin Can is a really small place that carries mostly beer, and a little wine. I was impressed with their selection. It included: Brooklyn Monster Ale, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, several of the Dogfish Head beers, flying dog Horn Dog, several of the Orkney Brewery's beers (including Skull splitter), Rogue beers (including Morimoto Imperial Pilsner, Imperial Stout) , North Coast's Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, just to name a few.
While in Boone I didn't have a chance to get to Peabody's, but I found enough at the Tin Can. I went in the store two times. The first time was when I bought beer to take home and the service was wonderful. The woman behind the counter knew her beer. The second time(when I was buying beer to drink while in Boone) was not so good....the attendant was not so knowledgeable.
Overall it is a place worth checking out, and an impressive selection especially when you consider the size of the store.
