If you don't own a dog you may feel out of place. Dogs rule here. The owners have invested maybe $5 on renovation of what was once some industrial place. The outdoor seating, which is vast, appears to be in the remains of some kind of loading dock which has a lovely view over a carpark. The walls are ghastly dirty concrete blocks and the roof is all old wood beams. You could say it has atmosphere. The location is in the more down-at-heel SE Portland on Hawthorne, which means you can park right outside for free.
Beer selection is quite wide and you get to choose among cask, regular tap and nitro. We tried an IPA a mild (I think), which were okay if not outstanding.

This was stop #25 for my wife and I on a 21-day pub-crawl from Michigan to N. CA and OR. We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy their beers and to have dinner. The pub is located in a storefront building along a busy, one-way street, and there is parking in the rear as well at the curb. The interior is a large open area that eliminated any cozy feel that we like in a brewpub setting, but it wasn’t industrial feeling either.
We ordered a sampler flight of 6 of the 12 beers (two of the 12 were also available on nitro/cask plus a guest beer and a cider were listed) plus our food at the counter, and chose to sit on the rear porch (actually, it’s like a big loading dock). We sipped the beer until the food arrived. The beers were all above average to their respective style, and the Superdog IPA was notable as the best of the group. (The Black Lab Stout was not roasty enough for us, but it was still a good beer.) The food menu was typical pub food items, and what we ordered was tasty but nothing exceptional.
This brewpub is worthy of a visit (and a re-visit by us), but there are many others that we would try first before returning here.
