Looks the part, nice creamy head, copper hue. Onions on the nose, onions on the palate. Doesn't taste like hop bill on the label. Bitterness becomes off-putting after a while as it isnt accompanied by a pleasant hop flavour.

I'm sure the homebrew version was far superior. This batch is a bit ordinary, was expecting a lot more.

I have tried Gage Roads current pales once, and not again thanks. However, the bottle size at 640ml and the $8 tag were enough to get me intrigued; a higher than average 6.3% alcohol content sold me. The IPA's hops level complements a increased alcohol content. The best test for most, if not all, bottled beers is "can it pass as a draught beer? Yes Rapid Fire can. And as a top quality IPA as well. I could list the tasting notes but it has it all, try for yourself. Make a reasonable head to reduce some of the carbonation and it is as good as many of the best craft beers available on tap. Works better from the bottle than "Hop Hog" from Feral or "Hop Thief" from James Squire and thats serious competition. A masterpiece.

This is a collaboration brew with Jeremy Sambrooks due to him winning the American IPA home brewers competition held at The Sail & Anchor and it pours a light clear copper hue with a rather bubbly three finger head and creamy clingy lacing here and there not bad looking, for a hop list that entails Amarillo,Centennial,Columbus and Simcoe the smell is very dissapointing it's light stone fruit, berries and perfumey hops and yeah not the greatest, the feel is light bodied with over carbonation and has tastes of light passionfruit, perfumey grassy hops,a touch of sweet malts and finished with a soft bitterness but clearly not enough for my liking and overall surely this could not of won a competition so maybe Gage Roads did something wrong with it and I for one would not buy this one again heavily dissapointed cheers.
