Found an aged bottle in the basement. In the nose, a strong whiff of alcohol, followed by coffee - served a little warmer that it should be - 64 F. In the mouth, coffee and a slight sour (?), not unpleasant, possibly due to the age .

Poured from 750 mL bottle into snifter. Cap stamped with "THT 12/08/2015" which I assume is a best by date.
A: Pours a thick and rich mahogany brown with luscious 1-2 inch dark tan head. Excellent retention. Thick, abundant lacing that lingers throughout.
S: Spicy (clove?) Belgian yeast, dark dried fruit, sweet caramel malt, dark chocolate, and a hint of melon and honey. Nicely complex aroma.
T: Sweet caramel malt, bitter dark chocolate, peppery Belgian yeast, and caramelized sugars (almost brings s'mores to mind). Different than what the aroma promised, but still solid.
M: Light-medium body. Looks heavier than it drinks. Strong chocolate bitterness with a softer sweet side. Mildly dry finish.
D: An extremely drinkable offering. Would do best pared with food, however stands up on its own quite well.
