kind of sour and and viniger like, a clear redish brown color and highley carobonated. i am not sure what the wattle seed does for this beer but what ever it is it isen't good, this is a beer that one is all care to drink. i would avoide this brew at all costs

Quite novel in that it includes wattle seed in the mix. Thin poorly formed head. Pours darker than I might have expected, a nice reddish, maroon brown. Sweetish nose, tough to pick a defining flavour, just generic style malts. Pleasant enough to taste; more non-descript malts coming through, a hint of sweetness and just a faint herbal, slightly hoppy edge. Unmemorable, even a fraction bland, but totally inoffensive. As it warmed up the beer developed a distinctly English dark ale / porter note…done well. Worth sampling.

Interesting beer. Pours a dark amber with a good head leaving good lacing. Smell is a bit off, interesting, not unpleasant. Taste is decent. Mouthfeel is pretty good. Overall, not something I'd buy again, but not bad. Pretty much the definition of average.

The color was a bit darker than I thought. It looked almost like a red ale. The aroma of this one kind of turns me off, not sure why it just didn't smell that appealing to me. The first sip is bitter which happens to fade very quickly into the aftertaste of the Wattle Seeds. The aftertaste is the best part of this brew, I don't taste chocolate so much as to tasting the caramel. I'd like to try this one again one day.

After a quick stop at their incredibly inept website, I venture on to their beer hoping the ineptitude doesn't reach into the brewhouse. Poured from a 330 ml. bottle into a pint glass, the Black Wattle pours a nearly clear light to medium brown in color. A light carbonation yields a thin cap the scatters quickly, keeping only a surface ring.
Light aromas of hops and yeast mix with dry bakers chocolate and some roasted malts. Roast notes are more forward in the taste department, along with some chocolate again, and finishing with a nutty character. Bit of clove spice accompanies.
Offers a decent feel given the limited complexity of flavors and a carbonation more spritzy than the pour had envisioned. More spice notes with warming keep things interesting and make this an easy drinking light bodied brew. More of a cross between a light Brown Ale with a hint of Winter Warmer spice in there.
