This is the brewery's cranked up version of its Bengal Gold IPA. I prefer this one to the Bengal Gold, finding it to have more balanced and more pleasant tastes. Despite the high alcohol content, it's on the smooth side. This doesn't whack your tastebuds like others in the style--the taste isn't quite a double IPA...more like a one-and-a-half IPA.

The kickoff review of this one, from Cornboy, is dead on--IPX has definite English IPA characteristics, but with an American twist, which is most identifiable in the hops-induced citrus flavor. If Brooklyn IPA had a Double IPA version, this is what it would taste like. (622 characters)

On tap at the Princeton location.

Poured a deeper amber color, slightly hazy, and an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of mainly citrus with some pine and a little fruity. Tastes of citrus, the same fruitiness, toasted malts, and some caramel. Alcohol content well hidden. (277 characters)
