On Cask @ Triumph Brewing Co - Princeton

Look: Dark amber color, medium head with good retention and decent lacing

Smell: Bourbon, sweet malt, and mild peat

Taste: Up Front: Bourbon, booze. Finish: Sweet malt, faint smoke, lingering sweetness

Mouthfeel: Medium body, creamy, with mild carbonation

Drinkability: If you like Bourbon, it's very easy to drink

Overall Impression: This special brew was Triumph's First Wednesday offering for March 2010. It weighed in a little over 9.5% abv. I always loved their Scotch Ale, and the barrel aging made it even better. On par with Founder's Backwoods Bastard. Uber Good!

Visited Triumph in New Hope and enjoyed the Dunklelwiesen and the Scotch Ale. Both are excellent. The Scotch hit me like a ton of bricks and got me sitting up straight.

Very dark with huge tan colored head. Probably the bigest head I've seen without wanting to complain. The foam hung around for a while, but not much lacing.

Smells of chocolate. Initial taste is sourness. Unexpected and shocking, but very enjoyable. Sourness shock fades and is followed by strong smoky sweet flavors.

Being a cask-conditioned ale, it had light carbonation (this one has a bit too little carbonation), and light to medium body. As with other Triumph brews, this one has a very smooth light creamy feel which is nicer with more

This is an intense beer, but very likeable.
