On tap at the Triumph location in Philly.

A-Golden copper color with a fluffy white 1.5 finger head, sheets of heavy lacing give it the 'wow' factor.

S-Wet bready aroma, mostly malts with a hint of citrus hops.

T-Spot on bready malts again. Very little hop character or taste.

M-Lots of chewy body. Dry more than bitter.

O- It's ok, but the hop traits are limited, even for the style.

Aroma: Faint spices and hops. Difficult to narrow it down because they are fairly masked.

Appearance: Golden-amber body with a thin creamy off-white head. Lightly carbonated.

Flavor: Apricot, floral hops. Some spiciness at the back.

Mouthfeel: Medium-heavy body. Not too bitter, not long lasting.

Overall: Can't really figure out this beer. Don't feel like there is enough going on. A little too restrained and mild, even for an English style IPA.

A- Pours a golden shade, translucent, soapy foam cap. Spot on.

A- Um... there's a hop note, but not the IPA kind. Kinda mild. Can't even discern which hops... seem citrusy. I'm wishing for more, not just citrus, but also floral and piney. Very disappointing... kinda like a bottled Pale Ale, rather than a fresh-tapped IPA.

T- Bitter, and some citrus. Tastes like Amarillo/Cascade. Not potent in the classic IPA sense, but there's a sharp bite here. The body is just sweet enough, but very one-dimensional per custom. There's some toastiness, and the flavors of stale grapefruit juice piques from time to time.
In this case, it's shame that the malt flavors is so limited since the hops notes are muted and the flavor just seems off.

M- Great. I wish there were more going on, but at least this beer is drinkable: lean and finishes dry.

O- Not impressive. Better than the BMC fare to be enjoyed elsewhere, but not on par w/ Craft Brewing standards. It's like they did a paint-by-numbers job on what should be their flagship ale.

I have enjoyed a lot of different beers at all the Triumph Brewpub locations, but the IPA has never ceased to fail me. It just doesn't deliver, despite the expected gravity placed upon the brewers to excel here.

Again, I like what this brand has to offer, just not this beer.

Samples at the Triumph, Princeton. Pours amber hue with a lasting, white head. Aroma is of citrus hops and caramel malt. The body is medium and crisp. Nice, hoppy, citrusy taste is balanced by caramel and biscuit malt. Long, hoppy finish. Very well made IPA..

Not a bad IPA, I'd call this one tame and mild.

Golden colored with thin head and some lacing.

Some nice hoppiness on the nose with typical pine and fruit.

Taste is mildly bitter with some astringency. Hops and some tart fruit are happening.

Mouthfeel is a bit thin---wish it had a bit more body.

Easy to drink, but not sure I'd want more than one pint. Just didn't holdmy attention or make me savour another.

Appearance: Pours hazy dark golden amber with a big fluffy white soapy head.

Smell: Light citrus and pine needles with hints of peach and tropical fruits, some sweetness lingering at the end of the nose.

Taste: Definitely dry hopped, some strong hints of amarillo and other traditional american hops. Overall fairly clean but definitely balanced. Sweet bready notes in the background compliment the fruity forward hop notes. Not too bitter on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and fairly clean with a medium to light body for an IPA.

Drinkability: While not super flavorful, very drinkable. Fruity notes keep it interesting while the lack of a huge bitter bite keeps you coming back without battering your tongue into the ground. Goes great with the tai/spicy foods on their menu.

Pours a nice peachy, copper color with a rather thin bubbly head.

Aroma is slightly citrusy, a bit sour and a bit like a funky sweaty sock. I calls em as I smells em. Not a whole lot of hoppy going on here.

Flavor is a bit fruity, citrusy and slightly floral but nor overly hoppy in any way. Pretty 'meh' if you ask me. Slightly metallic and sharp in the finish.

Body is a thin and watery and lacks overall character.

Not overly impressed.
