I visited this place in April 2007 on a fairly quiet Thursday afternoon before the nearby offices closed. It proudly boasts the fact that it is a non sports pub (having no television). It has nice decor, with a central bar surrounded by an area for standing and then tables and seats set well back giving it a roomy feel. They stock a reasonable selection of ales including Youngs bitter (3.7% at £2.72 a pint). The bottled selection was not all that great. The Salisbury pub is a nice place for a pint ot two, but is not a classic beer bar.

A very beautiful pub with excellent service, a fine array of casks that are well kept, and quite good, if simple, food. Really enjoyed my pints here as well as the fish and chips in a Victorian setting. Worth a stop for sure

This is one of my favorite pubs in London.

The interior is fantastic. Great warm amber lighting and gorgeous stained glass throughout. I'd maybe rank the Black Friar slightly higher in ambiance, but this is a great place to sit and drink. Gets a bit crowded right after 5 but what pub in London doesn't? Go during the afternoon and there is more than adequate seating.

The beer selection on tap was better than the average London pub. Along with the usual ales, a few hand drawn as well, was a decent European selection including my fav Czech Budvar.

Food was good, nice meat pies.

I make it a point to go to this pub every time I'm in London and I miss it just writing this!

this is a large, clean, well-lit pub, but not too "modern". Victorian decor, like cut glass, horseshoe bar almost 360degrees, lots of mirrors. very comfortable seating, and more spacious than the norm. after going on two weeknights, we never felt crowded. nice service. good selection with 6-7 real ales, very well-handled. I drank a very nice IPA. good traditional bar food. my father and I made a point of going back for the spacious, roomy, comfortable atmosphere and good beer and good food.
