22oz bottle split into taster glassware
Notes taken on 06/29/2014

A: Darker caramel amber body with some decent clarity to it. Big heady tan froth billows up out of the glass with enduring hang time. Lots of sticky lace scatters across the glass after each sip.

S: Bright lemony pine hops in the nose with some spice and a touch of herbals underneath. There is a dash of ephemeral malt bread to it but this one is mostly hops and fairly unique or experimental if you will. Lemony spice and herbs. Pretty nice nose and better than I was expecting from Rogue.

T: Taste is a touch more floral than the nose with a big lemony-lime citrus flavor presence. I get some spice and earthy herbals rounding out those hop flavors and there is just a whisper of malt sweetness to the brew. Good and resinous with a nice bitter bite on it and the alcohol completely masked throughout. This is very nice and all about those homegrown experimental hops. Better than most all the other Rogue beers I have had.

M: The mouth feel stays light on the palate with a nice creamy smooth texture. Has a peppery bitterness midway that lingers for a bit. All in all a nice clean balance here.

D: Very drinkable with a nice hoppy punch and some new and exciting flavors to try out from Rogue for once. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Hats off to the farmers.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was released very recently. Pours moderately cloudy bright golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, grapefruit, orange rind, light mango, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with bright citrus hop and light-moderate malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange rind, light mango, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange rind, light mango, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of bright citrus hop and moderate malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, fairly sticky, and slightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this a very nice DIPA. All around good balance and complexity of bright hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Kind of odd I would be the first to review this in the fact I live in North Carolina, although it's not supposed to come out until Feb 1.Pours into an impy nonic a burnt orange tinged medium golden with a sticky one finger white head atop, the color is all Pacific northwest going on.Grapefruit and sweet onion hoppy notes in the nose mainly along with some fruity maltiness.A rush of sharp citric hops on the palate at first sip that ends quite sweet and sugary, the hops do hit ya but not a whole lot of complexity, the alcohol sweetness does creep on ya.Big enough for DIPA status with it's alcohol and sweetness but listed as a "standard" IPA.I like it and could drink a fair amount of it.

Pours a coppery orange amber with decent white head that faded into medium collar and wisps at the surface; none of which are uniform in size. Aroma is a mix of floral, faint tropical citrus, and some piney hops. There's also a faint toasty malt character to the nose. I like the higher than normal carbonation; which is odd, I oscillate between liking low carbonation and high carbonation in IPAs. Today must just be one of those highly carbonated days. Taste is bitter. It has a nice medium toasted malt backbone with those same three hop presences intermingling, but bitter throughout. Decent body: kinda thin but not too shabby.

Copper to amber in color with great clarity. A half inch of rocky off white head rests on top. Brussels lacing. I smell a blend of piny and tropical hops mingled with light malt. The taste is bitter piny hop forward with a sourdough bread malt base to balance it out. There's a mild piny hop aftertaste. The mouth is moderately carbonated and yet fairly carbonated considering the strength.
