I poured this beer from a large bottle (1 pint 6oz.) into a large glass mug. It made a nice dark foamy head. It stayed on the sides with a nice lace, and pours very well, with a dark hint of what's to come.
The smell has a nice chocolaty aroma, and some hints of burnt malts. But a good combination. I am comparing this to my favourite chocolate: Youngs Double-Chocolate Stout, and it does stand up. To a certain degree.
It feels VERY good in your mouth, and that may be it's best attribute. Soft and warm. A burnt malt taste is over-riding. But the chocolate is ever-present! It's a mixture of deep warm flavours, with those malts and a slight hint of fruitiness. This beer just smells good.
It is a good choice if you like these type of brews. I was surprised how good it was, and will drink it again. Definately worth the adventure.
